ALBUM REVIEW: Stratovarius – Survive
It’s been seven long years since Finnish power metal act Stratovarius released their previous studio album, Eternal. With so much happening in the world since then, it really does feel like an eternity. Although far from the Utopian dream, 2015 was just a much more pleasant place to live. Two hugely polarising world leaders/scandal enthusiasts were yet to come to power, pandemics only affected other people, and we still had David Bowie, Prince, and (for most of it anyway) Lemmy.

Lemmy Honored At Hellfest Open Air with Giant, Permanent Statue
After a two-year absence due to Covid, one of the biggest heavy metal festivals in the world, Hellfest in Clisson, France, returned with two sold-out weekends packed with some of the biggest names in rock and metal music. It also hosted the first international memorialization of the Grammy-award-winning rock legend, Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, with a ceremony featuring band members Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee which was witnessed by tens of thousands of fans. ”It was a very unique ceremony for a very rare and much loved man,” said Motörhead’s manager Todd Singerman, “Lemmy was a true road warrior, and starting with this historic Hellfest ceremony, we can continue to make sure he remains one.”
Sonic Wolves (ex-Ufomammut, ex-Pentagram) Release Music Video For Lemmy Tribute Song “CCKL”!
Italian heavy rockers Sonic Wolves, featuring former members of Ufomammut and Pentagram, have released a very special tribute EP, entitled It’s All A Game To Me. Featuring two high-voltage tracks dedicated to Motörhead icon Lemmy and Metallica’s Cliff Burton, this limited Vinyl edition is out now on Argonauta Records and as part of the labels‘ Argonauta 100Ltd. -series. To celebrate its release in style, today Sonic Wolves have shared a new video clip for the track on side A, “CCKL.” Watch the band’s tribute to the godfathers of rock ‘n’ roll, Motörhead, here:

Watch Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy in The Animated Video for “Hellraiser”
Last month Ozzy Osbourne released a 30th anniversary edition of No More Tears featuring a digital edition with unreleased material. Included was a new version of “Hellraiser” featuring Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. Now you can watch and animated video for the track. are reunited one last time in the new animated clip for their mash-up duet of “Hellraiser.” The clip is an homage to their decades-long friendship. Produced by Hey Beautiful Jerk and directed by Mark Szumski and Gina Niespodziani, the video opens with OZZY and Lemmy hanging out at the infamous Rainbow Bar And Grill on Sunset Blvd. (Lemmy’s unofficial second home) surrounded by friends. The two are transported from a calm day playing video games in the bar to a post-apocalyptic world where they battle evil forces before ultimately returning to the bar, where they pick up their video game as if nothing had occurred. Ozzy Osbourne will release a new edition of his 1990s classic album No More Tears this week, on Friday, September 17th, 2021. In addition to streaming on all DSPs, there are two new vinyl versions of the album, including a special two-color variant via Tower Records pre-orders are live at the link below. Motörhead’s Classic “Killed By Death” Heard in Mayans MC Season 3
Sons of Anarchy spin-off series Mayans MC just debuted their third season on FX, and like its predecessor, music figures prominently in its storytelling. Motörhead is a legendary favorite band in the MC culture, so it’s no surprise to hear their classic track “Killed By Death” pop up in the season three premiere. The single “Killed By Death” was originally released on Bronze Records on 1st September 1984, produced by Vic Maile and Guy Bidmead.
