Two progressive metal legends Opeth and Mastodon have booked a co-headline tour for 2021 The two bands last toured together in the USA in 2011, with Ghost as the opener on their first national tour. The late year North American this fall will have direct support from Zeal & Ardor kicking off in Asheville, North Carolina on November 16th and wrapping in Denver, Colorado on December 5th. The pre-sale takes place tomorrow with the general on sale Friday, September 17th, 2021. Opeth continues to tour behind 2019’s In Cauda Venenum (Nuclear Blast) and Mastodon will soon release their new album Hushed and Grim.

Opeth Cancels Shows Due to Mikael Åkerfeldt’s Case of Laryngitis
Opeth is now on a North American Tour supporting last year’s stellar album In Cauda Venenum, released last year via Moderbolaget / Nuclear Blast Records, with Graveyard as direct support. Frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt and is being forced to cancel tonight’s performance in Worcester Massachusetts, followed by the next two shows. The band will hopefully resume this Friday in New York for their two landmark shows at The famed Apollo Theater in Harlem. Åkerfeldt broke the news of the cancellation earlier today in a social media post. He wrote: “I regret to inform you that we have to cancel the following shows on the North American run: Worcester, Toronto and Montreal. Opeth Shares Full Music Video For “Universal Truth” (English Version)
Opeth, who previously shared a short video teaser for the track ‘Ingen Sanning Är Allas (Universal Truth)’ from their latest album, In Cauda Venenum (Nuclear Blast Records), has shared the full video version of the English language version of the song. The video was created with acclaimed director Jess Cope (“Frankenweenie,” “Metallica: Here Comes Revenge”, Steven Wilson) and follows a melancholic and bitter man on the brink of self-destruction and insanity as he delves into a sinister alternate world as reality crumbles around him. Cope previously collaborated with Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt on the music video for ‘Drag Ropes’ for his side project Storm Corrosion. Arctangent Festival has announced its first main stage headliner for 2020, as a UK 2020 exclusive, Opeth! The band will continue touring behind its In Cauda Venenum album, out now via Nuclear Blast. They will be joined by Tesseract (UK festival exclusive), This Will Destroy You, Amenra (UK 2020 exclusive), Ihsahn, Perturbator, Rolo Tomassi (performing two full albums sets – ‘Grievances’ and ‘Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It’), Earthtone9, Giraffes?
