Kyuss Released Their Final Album “And The Circus Leaves Town” 25 Years Ago
Kyuss continues to cast a large shadow over the stoner doom scene that is perpetual and ever-changing. This truth is no more certain than the shadow they cast over themselves and having to live up the expectations they set. Coming out of nowhere (really the Palm Desert in California), the band set the template for the genre with Blues For The Red Sun (Dali) and Welcome To Sky Valley (Elecktra), but were always going to be hard-pressed to keep that pace. Looking back on their final album And The Circus Leaves Town (Elecktra), it may have not have lived up to its lofty older sisters, but it has some gems that maybe were not appreciated at the time since the band was disintegrating. Watch A Virtual Version of Korn Play a Concert Inside AdventureQuest 3D and AQWorlds.
In a scene straight out of The Matrix, Korn has performed a concert inside of the multiplayer video games AdventureQuest 3D and AQWorlds. The band played on stage as part of a special in-game event starting Tuesday, August 20. The band worked with games firm Artix Entertainment on the event, which saw the band open the “Battle Concert Arena” within the game worlds. The developer converted the band into characters to create the “multiplayer monster mosh pit.” It was free for players to attend, but Artix also launched a paid (via in-app purchase) “special event pack” for the event, which costs $9.99.Watch it below! The event will run for a month before it disappears from the game. Their new album, The Nothing will be released on September 13 via Roadrunner/Elektra Records.Continue reading
