Black Metal is not just blast beats and tremolo-picked guitars. In fact, it does not have to have those things at all. Black Metal is a sonic celebration of darkness. The darkness is what matters, not the blast beats. Canada’s Egregore understands this. On It Echoes The Wild (20 Buck Spin), they hit you with a tempestuous blend of heavy darkness.
