Jeff Loomis and Van Williams Respond to Criticism of The Nevermore Reunion, Announces Singer and Bassist Auditions

Jeff Loomis and Van Williams of Nevermore have responded to criticism of their plans foreshadowed in a new online teaser for the return of the band in 2025. Vocalist and co-founder Warrel Dane passed away in 2017 and guitarist Tim Calvert also passed away in 2018. Also, this week bassist Jim Sheppard claimed via a now-deleted social media post the idea of reuniting is “disrespectful,” and he was “not consulted.” Jeff and Van, via their personal social media accounts (they have yet to post from Nevermore’s accounts), they gave their rationale for bringing back the beloved band. They also gavea reason for not contacting Sheppard and including him, plans to move forward, and announced worldwide auditions for a singer and a bass player for the project, and how to submit private YouTube.                  Continue reading

Jane’s Addiction Cancels Their Entire Tour, Statements from Perry Farrell and The Rest of The Band Released

Following the altercation between co-founders Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro at Jane’s Addiction’s concert last Friday night Boston at Leader Bank Pavilion, the band has now canceled their entire tour. Refunds are available from the point of purchase. The band acknowledged the incident and apologized to fans in a series of posts you can read below. We await news about the remaining fourteen dates on the tour. Perry Farrell, who appeared to be drunk and otherwise impaired, assaulted Dave Navarro during end of the song “Ocean Size,” towards the end of their set. Farrell, who has seemed to struggle with sobriety on this tour, and reports of the band’s mixed performances have marred what was supposed to be a triumphant tour, likely one of their last. Farrell aggressively bumped shoulders with Navarro, and got in the guitarist’s face and cursed at him. Navarro seemed to not know why Farrell attacked him. Dave stopped playing and put a hand up to Farrell’s chest to prevent him from furthering the incident. Then Farrel seemed to punch Navarro in the face before being held back by a roadie and Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery. Avery and the bands’ roadcrew forced the singer off-stage. Their are 15 dates left on the tour with openers Love & Rockets, set to end in Los Angeles on October 16th. Later in the evening, Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, gave Perry’s side of the story that tensions had been mounting the entire tour with the band being too loud on stage and Perry struggling due to tinnitus and a sore throat every night. Watch videos and read the statements by Perry, the other three band members, and the band as a whole. Comments are off on Dave Navarro and the Jane’s account posts. Continue reading
