Ghost Cult’s Keefy caught up recently with Kevin Martin, the mastermind and leader of long-running rockers Candlebox for an interview. The band was on tour in Europe,  supporting the 25th anniversary of their multi-platinum, classic self-titled debut album. The band was also promoting their current album, the excellent Disappearing in Airports. In a candid chat, Kevin looked back at the bands’ history, his memories of the early years of the band, performing at Woodstock `94, the ups and downs of the music industry, making new music, the trajectory of the next Candlebox album, and what the future of Kevin’s music career looks like a few more years down the road. Candlebox Books UK Tour for Summer 2019


Candlebox celebrated twenty-five years of their acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2018, which helped launch the Maverick Records label (Madonna, Deftones, Alanis Morissette, The Prodigy). In addition to an extensive tour of the USA this year, the band will return to Europe, for their first international run since 2017. Kicking off June 11 in Bristol, UK at Fleece, the routing will feature performances at iconic venues, including King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on June 16 and Islington Academy in London on June 19th. The band reunited last summer to play their debut album in full twice and will be performing it again in 2019 at select shows. In addition to co-founder and vocalist Kevin Martin, the current band includes a return of Dave Krusin, who also played on Pearl Jam’s iconic Ten album (Epic Records). Continue reading

Athens, Georgia-based rockers Lullwater have shared an amazing cover of Pearl Jam’s ‘Release’. The track s a deep cut off of PJ’s classic debut album Ten (Epic). The video features live footage with Dave Krusen (Pearl Jam, Candlebox) and Kevin Martin (Candlebox), and was recorded at London Bridge Studio in Seattle, WA, where Ten was originally recorded.
