Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters gave a special performance at last nights Academy Awards (a.k.a. The Oscars) during their In Memoriam segment, honoring entertainers who passed away. Among those honored were the recently passed on David Bowie and Metallica: Some Kind of Monster director Bruce Sinofsky whom both died in 2015. Grohl performed a cover of ‘Blackbird’, by The Beatles. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry were honored on May 5, 2015 as one of the producers honored by the Sports Emmys for their work on 2014’s E:60 “Dream On: Stories of Boston’s Strongest,” which was directed by Aerosmith associate Casey Tebo.
E:60 won Sports Emmys for Open/Tease and Edited Sports Special for “Dream On: Stories of Boston’s Strongest” featuring a stirring performance by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of their iconic anthem “Dream On” with the Southern California Children’s Chorus, which was recorded last April in Los Angeles. “Dream On (Boston Strong 2014)”was released as a single via iTunes, the day after the band surprised the audience at The Forum, in Inglewood, CA (July 30, 2014) by bringing the Southern California Children’s Chorus onstage to perform the song.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) will present KISS with the ASCAP Founders Award at their 32nd Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards on April 29, 2015 at The Loews Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, CA. The event is invite only. The ASCAP Founders Award goes to ASCAP’s pioneering songwriters who have made exceptional contributions to music by inspiring and influencing their fellow music creators. Past recipients include Sir Paul McCartney, Smokey Robinson, Patti Smith, Steely Dan, Rod Stewart, James Taylor, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Tom Waits, Stevie Wonder and Neil Young.
The Journeys Alternative Press Music Awards, fuelled by Monster Energy Drink, will be making an official announcement on March 23, 2015 in regards to award categories and nominees for their event. It will be held July 22, 2015 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH and live broadcasted by AXS TV. Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat of All Time Low will be hosting the event.
So far, they have revealed the nominees for the 2015 category of “Best Music Video” presented by Journeys. Fans may vote here or at any retail location starting March 23, 2015.
