ALBUM REVIEW: thoughtcrimes – Altered Pasts
Altered Pasts (Pure Noise) is the debut album from the Long Island based five-piece featuring ex-Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Billy Rymer, who also plays guitar on the record alongside his long-time friend Brian Sullivan. Rymer was inspired to pick his guitar back up and jam with Sullivan during his off time with Dillinger, dabbling once again with the instrument he had to put to one side to focus on his drumming during the height of their fame. Post-Hardcore and Heavy Rock band Thoughtcrimes will reissue their acclaimed EP Tap Night, with new new tracks, via Pure Noise Records on October 8th, 2021. The group features former Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Billy Rymer, singer Rick Pepa, guitar players Russ Savarese and Brian Sullivan, and bass player Cody Hosza. The band shared a new animated music video for “Misery’s A Muse” – hand-drawn, animated video treatment created by Rymer’s brother, Tom, and artist Riley Schmidt, which you can see below. FESTIVAL REVIEW: RPM Festival 2019
A three-day music festival in the woods with rock, punk, metal, copious amount of drinking, and an undying sense of community… throw that all in a blender with some camping and yard games and you get RPM Fest. The “Heaviest Party of the Summer” and the unofficial end to the summer in the New England metal scene. This was my 2nd year at RPM Fest so I knew what to expect, but at the same time, I didn’t know what to expect. As it is never a repeat of the year prior at this loud and dirty circus.Continue reading
