The worlds of Country and Hip Hop don’t often meet, but Country Rocker and producer Shooter Jennings and acclaimed rapper Yelawolf have teamed up to create their eponymous debut as a duo Sometimes Y (Slumerican). As you would expect from such divergent backgrounds, Sometimes Y  is an eclectic record that is largely rock but takes many a wide and varied detour.

Korn, Metallica, Mastodon, Billy Corgan to Pay Tribute to Alice In Chains at MoPop Awards Ceremony


Alice In Chains is being honored by Seattle’s MoPop Museum of Pop Culture on December 1st, and the band will be celebrated by a cadre of their peers, as well as hold their first performance of 2020. Korn, Metallica, Mastodon, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction, and Krist Novoselic of Nirvana are among the artists who will take part in virtual tribute performances when AIC is presented with this year’s Museum Of Pop Culture (MoPOP) Founders Award. ALBUM REVIEW: Marilyn Manson – We Are Chaos

Twenty-five years plus into his career, Marilyn Manson continues to be an enigma, wrapped tight inside a riddle, not wishing to be fully known. By never making the same album twice with his namesake band, he continues to defy expectations, and be equally loved and hated. While his early albums are masterworks that others from the 1990s would kill to rest their reputations on. However, as the rockstar gains on years and gets further away from his early years, he has transformed into a much more interesting character than when he was freaking out pastors and scarring moms and dads.

Shooter Jennings Shares that Marilyn Manson’s New Album is “Finished” and a “Masterpiece”


Outlaw Country star and producer extroidnere Shooter Jennings has shared with social media that Marilyn Manson has completed work on his highly anticipated new studio album. Jennings, who took to his Instagram to say that the follow-up to 2017’s “Heaven Upside Down” “finished,” also calling it a “masterpiece.” Manson replied to Shooter’s post, writing in the comments “Finished masterpiece album” and “Shit is gonna get real.” Manson and Jennings previously teamed up in 2016 to record a cover version of “Cat People (Putting Out Fire)” for Jennings’s “Countach (For Giorgio)” LP, a covers collection featuring songs by electronic-music pioneer Giorgio Moroder. Manson’s guitarist/bassist Paul Wiley (Deveraux/Razor Candy) and drummer, Brandon Pertzborn (Black Flag, Doyle, Ho99o9) round out the lineup on the album. Ghost Cult previously theorized that since Manson’s last two stand-alone singles are covers, the entire album will be made up of covers and reimagined classics, which would explain Manson’s prior quote about not being able to compare his new record to his past work.Continue reading

Marilyn Manson is releasing a killer new 12-inch picture disc, with a cover song of The Doors’ all-time great track “The End”. It might be the most “Manson” cover Manson has ever done. The track was produced by Shooter Jennings, who is working with Manson on his new solo album due in 2020. The video like the disc has a representation of an original Manson water-color painting, created especially for this release on Picture Disc. Outlaw Country artist and acclaimed producer Shooter Jennings (Duff McKagan, Marilyn Manson, Brandi Carlyle) will perform the theme song for Adult Swim’s Squidbillies this Sunday, September 15 at Midnight Eastern.
