FILM REVIEW: Mötley Crüe – The Dirt by Jeff Tremaine
We have heard the hype about The Dirt, the biopic about Mötley Crüe for a long time. They have tried to make this film for ages, while it languished in development hell, finally getting made and out now streaming on Netflix. By the bands’ own admission, much like the book, the film is full of exaggerated lurid rock star clichés and partially real stories about the band. It’s just so out there and real. Too real for most people, like the band was at times. Continue reading
Ozzy Osbourne Cancels Download Japan, Australia and New Zealand Headline Appearances
Although he is home from the hospital and recovering from the flu and an upper respiratory infection, Ozzy Osbourne has canceled his scheduled headline appearances in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, including Download Japan and Download Australia next month. According to his wife and manager Sharon Osbourne “Ozzy recently developed pneumonia and has spent some time in the hospital. Thankfully he is now through the worst part. His doctors have advised that he stay at home to recuperate for a full six weeks with no travel.” A statement by Download Japan fest reveals that Ozzy is still too unwell to travel and tour as planned. The fest is working to find a replacement act, which already has Slayer, Sun 41, Anthrax, Arch Enemy, Halestorm, Man With A mission and more, so they will not be offering refunds. Ozzy’s next scheduled tour date is the start of his USA summer tour with Megadeth, at Rocklahoma this May. Continue reading
Ozzy Osbourne Admitted To Hospital Over Ongoing Flu Concerns
Ozzy Osbourne has been convalescing ever since Ghost Cult broke the news that he was being forced to postpone all European tour dates with Judas Priest until later in 2019 due to a severe bout of the Flu. Now he has checked into the hospital over concerns of his symptoms not abating. The news of his hospitalization was shared by his wife and manager Sharon Osbourne on Twitter: “As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu. His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.” Ozzy checked into Keck Hospital of USC on Monday. Sharon and the couple’s son Jack showed up at the hospital with security in tow. Sharon later left and returned a short time later with a suitcase and a blanket. This development comes on the heels of Ozzy postponing multiple US shows until this summer due to infections in his hand and multiple surgeries. We wish Ozzy gets well soon and gets back on tour when his health allows. Continue reading
UPDATED: Ozzy Osbourne’s “No More Tours 2” UK And European Tour Leg Postponed Due To Illness
Following up on yesterday’s story, on doctors’ orders, Ozzy Osbourne has now postponed the full UK and European “No More Tours 2” tour dates with Judas Priest due to Ozzy being in poor health. After seeing his physician again, he has been diagnosed with a severe upper-respiratory infection which the doctor feels could develop into pneumonia given the physicality of the live performances and an extensive travel schedule throughout Europe in harsh winter conditions. Concert-goers should hold on to their tickets, as they will be honored for the rescheduled dates (details of which will be announced in the coming months). Refunds are also available at point of purchase. We hope Ozzy gets well soon and can keep up with the rest of his dates the rest of 2019. Continue reading
FESTIVAL REVIEW: Ozzfest 2018 Live At The Forum Los Angeles
Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Jonathan Davis, Body Count, Zakk Sabbath, DevilDriver, Wednesday 13: This was the lineup that rocked in the new year at Ozzfest New Year’s Eve 2018.
The festivities began in the parking lot of The Forum, located in (not so) sunny Los Angeles directly below one of LAX’s flight paths. The gloomy weather and high-flying airliners, however, were no match for the onslaught of heavy sounds so graciously provided by the fest’s openers: Wednesday 13 with their horror punk antics and crowd-dusting snow blower; Dez Fafara of Coal Chamber fame brought his current heavy hitting band DevilDriver and killed it as usual; and finishing out the outdoor portion of the fest was Black Sabbath cover band Zakk Sabbath, fronted by a purple-kilted Zakk Wylde.Continue reading
