“Master of Puppets” Becomes Metallica’s Third Song to Surpass 1 Billion Streams on Spotify


Metallica surpasses another milestone in their storied career! “Master of Puppets” the title track from their Thrash Metal masterpiece album of the same name, has become the band’s third song to surpass 1 Billion streams on Spotify, following “Enter Sandman” (1.65B)  and Nothing Else Matters” (1.34B) in the Spotify Billions Club playlist. This was reported by industry expert Ryan J. Downey’s Substack Stream and Destroy and Official Chart Data service. According to Downey, Metallica brought its catalog to Spotify on December 06, 2012 The song got a second life in the last few years with it featuring in the popular Netflix show Stranger Things, which caused it to go viral and mint a new generation of Metallica fans.Continue reading

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett sat for a new interview with Rolling Stone, to promote the upcoming 2025 M72 tour dates and festivals. In that chat he shared that he has 767 new riffs written for the band’s next album. Kittie, The Pretty Wild, and Diamante have launched a collaborative cover of the 1990s Metallica classic, “The Unforgiven.” The song is to appear on the original soundtrack of the movie, Queen Of The Ring, released through Sumerian Records. The film and album arrive in theatres and on music streaming platforms respectively, on Friday 7th March 2025. The biopic film, written and directed by Ash Avildsen and starring Emily Bett Rickards, chronicles the journey of wrestling icon, Mildred Burke. Hear the new track and find out more below.

Watch The Trailer for “Soldiers of Song” Documentary about Ukrainian Musicians ft. Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” – Special Screenings and Coming Soon to On Demand Video Services


Hailed as a “must-watch” film by Forbes, Soldiers of Song will open in theaters this month, followed by an on-demand release on March 8. Directed and produced by Ryan Smith, in collaboration with a courageous Ukrainian production crew and Executive Produced by the Governor George Pataki Leadership Center, the film explores the profound impact of music on Ukrainian culture during a time of war. After a debut screening at the Tribeca Film Festival, the film went on to screening in festivals around the world, including the Warsaw International Film Festival (where it was nominated for Best Documentary Feature), Hamptons Doc Fest, and Stockholm Global Sounds Festival. This week the film screens at the Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago on March 7 at 6pm, followed by streaming and on-demand services this weekend, with coming soon. This film also features Metallica’s iconic ballad “Nothing Else Matters,” performed by Ukrainian pop singer Svitlana Tarabarova.
