So, here we are then. Forty-three years, seventeen studio albums and countless supporting musicians later, and the end is finally nigh for Megadeth. Yes, the band will remain on active duty for an extensive farewell tour, but for now, or until frontman Dave Mustaine changes his mind (an unlikely scenario), then this is indeed it. Recording-wise at least.

Their upcoming self-titled final album is due out this week, via Dave Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint in partnership with Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label. In addition to the new Zoetrope vinyl, the album will get a special limited edition vinyl version for Target Stores. The special release will be the only place to hear the bonus track “Bloodlust” and will feature a blood-red vinyl. Megadeth will release on January 23rd, 2026, and will also close with a cover of Metallica’s “Ride The Lightning.” Check it out!
