Guns N’ Roses’ “Paradise City” Earns One Billion Streams On Spotify


 

Guns N’ Roses has again joined Spotify’s “Billions Club” with the band’s iconic song “Paradise City.” “Paradise City” is the third Guns N’ Roses track to surpass one billion streams on Spotify, after “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Welcome To The Jungle”. All three tracks come from Guns N’ Roses’ debut album, “Appetite For Destruction”, Billions Club is a playlist first launched in 2020 that includes all of the songs on Spotify that have surpassed one billion streams on the platform. Spotify gifts bands the join the the Billions Club plaque. “Paradise City” joins other tracks by bands such as Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”, Aerosmith’s “Dream On”, Survivor’s “Eye Of The Tiger”, ABBA’s “Dancing Queen”, Papa Roach’s “Last Resort” and Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” — to reach the achievement. Guns N’ Roses Share Their New Single and Visualizer for “The General”


Guns N’ Roses has released their new single, “The General” as the B-side of Guns N’ Roses’ limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single titled “Perhaps!” It is now available on all DSPs, after it was made available for pre-order in August. Guns N’ Roses performed “The General” live for the first time on November 2 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Like “Perhaps” – “The General” is another re-worked song leftover from the decade-plus long sessions that gave the world Chinese Democracy (Geffen) in 2008. Axl Rose of Guns N Roses is Being Sued for a Decades-Old Alleged Sexual Assault


According to a published report from TMZ, Guns N Roses singer Axl Rose is being taken to court over a decades-old alleged sexual assault of a former Penthouse model … who claims he dragged her “like a caveman” and violated her. Sheila Kennedy — who was Penthouse’s Pet of the Year in ’83 — just filed suit against Rose, claiming he tied her up and anally penetrated her with his penis during a party in 1989. This is the second lawsuit in a week. Kennedy has brought this suit against Rose in the past, to no avail.

Former Guns N’ Roses Photographer Katarina Benzova Sues The Band for Copyright Infringement and Sexual Harassment


 

According to a published report from Loudwire, former Guns N’ Roses photographer Katarina Benzova, one of the best and best known photographers in the concert world, has filed a lawsuit against Guns N’ Roses and their management claiming copyright infringement and sexual harassment by the band’s manager Fernando Lebeis. The band has since responded to the lawsuit in a statement provided to Loudwire, noting that they initially filed a counter claim against her back in October. Benzova’s lawsuit was filed in California on Nov. 11. According to the suit, Benzova worked with Guns N’ Roses as an independent contractor from 2010 until 2022, for a total of 364 concerts.

ALBUM REVIEW: Duff McKagan – Lighthouse


 

Duff McKagan is an interesting character. Having released his first solo album in 1993, a big gap followed till 2019’s Tenderness, with Lighthouse (BFD Records /Orchard/Sony) his third. This of course is but a fraction of McKagan’s musical story. Consistently coming across as the most likeable out of the classic Guns N’ Roses lineup (in which he played bass and for his part was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame), such a rock pedigree is already more than most mere mortals would ever get a sniff at.
