Since the music of Baroness has been unlike any other band to me, and more akin to a spiritual experience since I first got into them in 2007, I set the mood for myself before listening. I turned the lights down low, cracked the window open to get a nice breeze going, and heard the sound of large late summer raindrops filling my ears. The city’s heartbeat in the deep background was the only other sound besides my breathing. I just stared at the new album artwork for five straight minutes. At peace for a change, in the still and calm of myself, and by chance, present in the city of my birth for a few days, I hit play on the promo and then let the first notes hit me.
Guns N’ Roses continue rolling across the country on their first full-fledged North American headline run since 2021 and are igniting stadiums across North America. Packing stadiums coast-to-coast, the group have delivered one powerhouse performance after another this month, performing a thrilling three-hour set highlighted by staples such as “November Rain,” “Welcome To The Jungle,” and “Patience” as well as high-powered deep cuts, including “Double Talkin’ Jive,” “Pretty Tied Up,” and “Reckless Life.”
The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will benefit charities in both the UK and the US and was chosen by the Hawkins family. Beneficiaries and further details will be announced shortly. Performing alongside The Foo Fighters, the first guest artists announced for the London show are Chris Chaney, Stewart Copeland, Liam Gallagher, Omar Hakim, Joshua Homme, Chrissie Hynde, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Brian May, Mark Ronson, Supergrass, Roger Taylor, Rufus Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen, Chevy Metal, plus a special appearance by Dave Chappelle. Talyor Hawkins (Foo Fighters, Chevy Metal) and his new band Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders have shared a new single, the title track from their upcoming new album. Get The Money is due for release November 8 by Shanabelle/RCA Records. The track features Taylor on lead vocals, with appearances from Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, Joe Walsh of The Eagles on lead guitar, and Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses on bass.
