Hard rock legend Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot is recovering at home after recently suffering a stroke. Banali, who has been battling stage IV pancreatic cancer for the past 16 months, gave an update on his health in a social media post last night (Friday, August 14). He wrote: “Update: I spent the last three weeks in the hospital. Home now. Had two blood transfusions. I also had a stroke while there. I am rehabbing at home. Fundraiser Launched for Van Williams Following the Passing of His Wife Dore


Last month legendary metal drummer Van Williams (Nevermore, Ghost Ship Octavius) lost his wife Dore (Dorraine) Williams to cancer after a tough battle over many years. In her memory, the USA Royal Affair Tour Fundraiser has been launched to help his family in their time of need. The 2019 Royal Affair Tour consisted of YES, ASIA, The John Lodge Band (featuring John Lodge of the Moody Blues) as well as the Carl Palmer (ELP) band. Van worked on the tour in production and was considered a cherished member of the crew. Proceeds will be given to Van to help aid him in the accumulation of bills stemming from their medical situation, as he is now a single parent and the touring and gig situation being what it is in the world right now, he can sued the help. Lars-Göran Petrov, Vocalist of Entombed A.D., is Battling Cancer 


Legendary Death Metal vocalist Lars-Göran Petrov, best known for Entombed and Entombed A.D., has revealed he has cancer.   The Swedish singer’s health setback was broken earlier today on social media. The band shared a photo of Petrov at what appears to be a treatment center, and included the following message: “Sad news.. LG Petrov has been struck by cancer and he is undergoing chemo treatment to try and control it. Our thoughts and strength goes out to our brother. Failure Offers Update on Kelli Scott’s Health, Re-Releases “Enjoy The Silence” Cover


Failure’s Ken Andrews has addressed the fans curious about drummer Kelli Scott’s progress in his fight against stage 1 colon cancer. Scott disclosed his diagnosis this spring in 2020 via social media. Andrews reports that Kelli is “recovering well” from a series of surgeries in hopes of curing him of the life-threatening illness. Quiet Riot and heavy metal legend Frankie Banali has checked in at the Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center in Woodland Hills, California on Friday (February 21) to undergo his twelfth round of chemotherapy. Banali has said he needed several more rounds of chemo to attempt to win his bout with pancreatic cancer. Dave Mustaine of Megadeth Declares “I’m Back” After Battle with Cancer


In a new post to social media, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has declared “I’m Back”, less than one year after his diagnosis with throat cancer. The 58-year-old musician and his bandmates are scheduled to kick off their European tour as the support act for Five Finger Death Punch next week on tour in Europe. Direct support on all shows will come from Bad Wolves. The tour begins on January 20 at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland and ending on February 20 at the Budapest Sportarena in Budapest, Hungary. Mustaine revealed his cancer battle last June on social media. Five months later, he gave an interview to Rolling Stone in which he said that he wasn’t officially in remission but that he had finished the necessary treatment and had started rehabilitation. In addition to touring, Megadeth is expected to release a new album in 2020, their first since 2016’s Dystopia (Tradecraft/Universal) and the first with new drummer Dirk Verbeuren (ex Soilwork).Continue reading


Satyricon Bassist Anders Odden Diagnosed with Colon Cancer


Satyricon bassist Anders Odden has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Colon Cancer and will have surgery next Monday, January 6th. According to Odden’s post to Instagram, the surgery is expected to remove the malignant tumors and any nearby lymph nodes. He was diagnosed on December 28th, the anniversary of Odden’s hero Lemmy of Motorhead dying. Overall, the prognosis so far is good, according to Odden. Continue reading

Dave says he is almost done with his regiment of treatments and is looking forward to the cruise and doctors are feeling positive about his recovery. Chimaira Singer Mark Hunter Undergoes Successful Surgery for Thyroid Cancer


Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter recently announced he had been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, followed by an outpouring of support and love from the music community.
