Chris Elliott (Cell Arts Media and Black-Angeles) caught up with Davey Ferchow, vocalist and guitarist of Portland’s Dry Wedding, to discuss the band’s third album, The Back of Beyond, released July 31, 2026, via Vesperian / Metal Blade Records. Davey breaks down the making of the band’s heaviest and most ambitious record to date, how the volcanic badlands, forested valleys, and Painted Hills of Oregon shaped the album’s atmosphere, and what it took to get here after the band’s van and all of their gear were stolen at the end of a West Coast tour in 2023, forcing them to rebuild from scratch before returning to the road only months later.
