Lord of the Lost is back with OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 (Napalm Records) which is a grandiose take on Metal that feels like it’s gotten bigger this time around. Midway into the opening track, you can hear how they ae moving up the bill on European festivals with this album. This album comes on the heels of opening slots for Iron Maiden, which forced them to step up their game. They have not dumbed things down for an American audience, so you are either into this or you are not. Yes, the harsher vocals might appeal a little more to Western audiences, but they’re only one aspect.

CONCERT REVIEW: Iron Maiden – Lord of The Lost Live at AO Arena Manchester
Opening up the night was the enthralling German band, Lord of the Lost. Readers may recall these from their recent stint in Eurovision, but we won’t hold that against them. Despite the notoriously daunting task of opening for the legends that are Iron Maiden, they graced the stage with a riveting presence. Their performance blended a unique mix of dark metal Goth with even a dash of Glam Rock, like a diverse sonic tapestry.
ALBUM REVIEW: Warkings – Revolution
One of the worst kept secrets in power metal is that “The Tribune”, the Roman frontman of gimmicky cosplayers Warkings, is none other than Serenity vocalist Georg Neuhauser. Slightly more elusive than the distinctive vocal cords of Neuhauser, the identities of his role playing bandmates would now appear to be that of German outfit, Souldrinker, with drummer Steffen Theurer playing “The Spartan”, bassist Christian Rodens as “The Viking”, and guitarist Markus Pohl in the role of “The Crusader”.
