Like Clutch, Black Stone Cherry do not make bad albums and this new one – their seventh – is another example of this.

ALBUM REVIEW: Black Stone Cherry – Black To Blues Vol. 2


After the success of the first one, and acting as a nice stop gap between albums, comes Back to Blues Vol. 2 (Mascot Records) – Black Stone Cherry’s second EP covering blues standards from years gone by. Like the first one it comes a year after a proper album, 2018s Family Tree (Mascot Records) in this case, and is chock full of big names. Happily, also like the first volume, it is a joy from start to finish – with the six blues classics given the full Black Stone Cherry treatment.

Blues-inspired rockers Black Stone Cherry have confirmed they are getting ready to commence work on their new album. A new BST album will e the follow up to their Family Tree LP. FESTIVAL REVIEW: Exit 111 Festival 2019 – Manchester, Tennessee


Exit 111 Festival, aptly named for the highway exit in Manchester TN, made its début October 11-13, 2019. Arriving in powers of three, it was three days of riffs, rock, and rowdiness. One part Metal, one part Rock, one Southern rock, and a whole lot of nostalgia, the event hosted three stages: the Rise Above Stage (honored suicide awareness and featured many of the Classic rock/Southern rock acts), Heaven Stage (the main stage and home to the headliners), and Hell Stage (spotlighted mainly heavy artists).Continue reading
