One of the heaviest, grooviest, hookiest, and more casually profound records you don’t want to slip under your radar dropped recently from Massachusetts groove-core/alt metal rockers Hyeena. Guitarist/vocalist Keith Holuk (ex-Ligeia), bassist Mike Verlizzo, and drummer Julian Fernandez have dropped one of the more memorable ragers in Proxima, capable of inspiring fanbases ranging from Bane to Bury Your Dead to more melodic stuff like 36 Crazyfists and Deftones. Devildriver – Outlaws ‘Til The End Vol. 1

You may or may not cringe when people say “everything’s been done before” depending on your taste in music. Fans can be a jaded lot, and there is so much noise to cut through to find new sounds to rock out to, it’s understandable to hesitance to think outside your typical playlists. Devildriver in their career have been nothing, but resilient, consistent, and heavy. Their cover of ‘Sail’ by AWOLNATION proved they could get out of their comfort zone, and impress. 36 Crazyfists – Lanterns

Nostalgia for the good old days’ post-hardcore of the 1990s and the early aughts is at an all-time high in 2017. However, few bands made the impact on the scene the way that 36 Crazyfists did, coming on in the middle of that golden decade and reigning hard for years over several acclaimed, and a few other solid releases. Unlike some of their peers, they never really broken up, as much as the hype died down and they settled into veteran band status. Except for a brief lag before their last album, Time and Trauma (Spinefarm) ,they have been consistent,and always supported by their die-hard fan base.
