Last year Metallica’s first ever All Within My Hands Day of Service enlisted more than 1,000 volunteers to spend a day working at local food banks across the U.S. Back for 2019 and year two, the All Within My Hands Foundation announces its second annual Day of Service on Wednesday, May 22nd. Once again Metallica fans across the U.S. are invited to volunteer for a day at food banks in communities that have supported Metallica on its North American dates over the course of the WorldWired Tour. In cooperation with Feeding America, Metallica and AWMH have been proud to make contributions to their local partners in those cities. Now, once again, they ask their friends and fans across the country to support the fight against hunger in their neighborhoods. More than 50 food banks will be participating in this year’s activities–more than twice as many as last year—and each registered volunteer will receive a special All Within My Hands T-shirt commemorating our United Day of Service. Check the link below for participating local food banks and how you can help support AWMH and Metallica’s mission. Continue reading

Waldgeflüster – Mondscheinsonaten
Black Metal has always showed both a fascination and an intrinsic link with forest and woodland scenery, perhaps more so than the alternate subject matters it is often notable for. From band shots set amongst wooded areas in frigid winter to a deeper core love, worship or interest in such that manifests in the music itself; as seen with plentiful European acts and with American counterparts such as Panopticon and Twilight Fauna.Continue reading
Ketzer – Cloud Collider
Was Thrash a fad? With the indomitable rise of The Big 4 to the point of global phenomenon in the eighties, along with the likes of Exodus and Testament to name but a few, the sub-genre was a world-conquering behemoth with no signs of relinquishing its stranglehold on the zeitgeist. With Metallica’s turn to stadium Rock on their self-titled effort – better known as The Black Album (Elektra) – and the emergence of the Seattle Grunge movement, Thrash was dead in the water, being dropped into obscurity as rapidly as it had become a buzzword.
