Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal Thinks “Chinese Democracy” by Guns N Roses will Get More Respect Over Time

In a new interview, Sons of Apollo and former Guns N Roses guitarist and songwriter Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal believes that the much-maligned Chinese Democracy album will gain more acceptance over time from fans and critics alike. Thal was in GNR from 2006 to 2014  was the featured guitarist on Chinese Democracy. The album took over ten years to complete as a reported cost of one million dollars. As reported by Radio Station Q104.3, in a recent interview with Music Is Win’s Tyler Larson, Thal pointed out that the conversation around Chinese Democracy had been tainted for years before the album actually arrived. But that doesn’t change the fact that the music is good. Cover songs can be tricky. A balancing act that often results in calamity. Lean too far one way and be accused of musical blasphemy; keep things too safe and be reliably informed you shouldn’t have bothered in the first place. So with that in mind, surely an album consisting entirely of cover versions is just asking for trouble, isn’t it?Continue reading

Major news for Classic Rock royalty as AC/DC’s Power Up (read our review here) has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, giving the legendary rock band its third chart-topping album in their career. The new studio effort was released via Columbia Records on Nov. 13 and starts with 117,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 19, according to Nielsen Music.
