Mötley Crüe celebrated the 30th anniversary of their Dr. Deelgood album yesterday and will release a deluxe edition with a new CD and Vinyl packaging and different merch bundles via their current label, Eleven Seven Music Group. Pre-orders are live at the link below. The huge hit album is widely considered The Crue’s best album, and Ghost Cult shared a retrospective on the release yesterday. With charting hit singles including “Dr. Feelgood,” “Kickstart My Heart,” “Without You,” “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)” and “Same Ol’ Situation (S.O.S.),” Dr. Feelgood has been the band’s biggest album to date. Lamassu Releases Their Debut Album – “Into The Empty” Today!


Australian Heavy Rock band Lamassu has released their debut album today! Into The Empty rocks with modern riff-centric Stoner Doom vibes, but the heaviness and songwriting of great acts of yesterday such as Soundgarden, Kyuss, or Alice In Chains! This collective of musicians features members of Motherslug, Field, Borrachero, and Olmeg, all stalwarts of the Melbourne stoner/doom scene. They recorded Into the Empty in late 2018 with producer/engineer/musician Mike Deslandes (High Tension / YLVA) at The Black Lodge Studios in Brunswick, Melbourne. In a new interview with Mary Anne Hobbs of BBC Radio 6 Music, Tom Morello says there will be a new Prophets of Rage (RATM, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill) song released this week. This follows the recent stand-alone single ‘Made With Hate’, which released in June. More details about the bands’ new album, their third will be announced soon as well. “In light of the recent gun violence, we’ve got a very timely song that we’re gonna put out hopefully in the next couple of days,” he said. “Then beyond that, I think for PROPHETS OF RAGE, this will be our third studio record and really the one where I think we have to define who we are in 2019 and beyond, rather than just sort of a coming together of groups with notable catalogs, to really find our own sound and to continue to grow.”Continue reading


Green Carnation to Enter The Studio, New Album Due in 2020


Progressive stoner metal band Green Carnation will enter the studio this month to make their first new album since 2006’s The Acoustic Verses and first new music since The Quiet Offspring in 2005. The music will be released in 2020. The band will be recording what they describe as “a tribute to Green Carnation’s past, present and future”, consisting of three brand new songs, one remake of a song from their debut album and one cover song. The sessions also mark a reunion with Endre Kirkesola (Abbath, In Vain, Solefald), the producer of the band’s legendary Light of Day, Day of Darkness, in DUB Studios in Kristiansand, Norway.Continue reading
