As we reported earlier in the week, Boston area legendary radio station WAAF, which played and integral part in Rock and Metal programming for fifty years was sold and has swapped formats starting today, Saturday, February 22nd, 2020. Entercom Communications Corp., a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., on Tuesday, announced a deal to sell Rock 107.3 WAAF Boston to Educational Media Foundation for $10.75 million in cash. EMF has confirmed they will convert to ‘contemporary Christian’ programming. For their final song ever, the station played the track the debuted their station with fifty years ago, ‘Black Sabbath’, by Black Sabbath, which was a brand new song when the station appeared. The main band of the station, 107.3 is on to other programs today, but their smaller bands are still operating and they are going to continue for now as an online radio station.
