Huntress Drops Off Current Tour Due To Illness

Huntress has announced they are dropping off their current tour with Avatar, Gemini Syndrome and others due to the state of the health of front woman Jill Janus, following her recovery from a recent hysterectomy. Diagnosed with state 1 uterine cancer, Janus and the band have released a statement on the tour:

 

“Announcement: Huntress will not being touring in Sept due to Jill Janus‘ healing from uterine cancer surgery. She is now cancer-free. Doctors have ordered one more month to properly heal, then Huntress will join Motörhead’s MotörBoat Cruise 9/28-10/2. We apologize to all our fans, Avatar, Gemini Syndrome & First Decree and look forward to more shows in the near future!”

 

Huntress will release their new album, Static, from Napalm Records on September 25th. The band currently has a Pledge Music campaign for the pre-sale orders of Static you can follow at this link. It is the follow up to their last album, Starbound Beast (also Napalm).

Long running Canadian tech death masters Cryptopsy have shared a new teaser video from their upcoming EP, The Book of Suffering Tome 1. You can view the trailer at this link or below:

The trailer has a who’s who of fans of the band who are metal legends themselves such as  Jeff Waters (Annihilator), Richard Christy (Iced Earth, Death), Liam Wilson (The Dillinger Escape Plan), Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation) and others.

Country Artist Steve Wariner Plays On New Megadeth Album

Famed modern country artist Steve Wariner has recorded a part for the upcoming new Megadeth album, due out later this year. Wariner known for his guitar talents, performed pedal-steel parts for new song.

Worlds collide. It’s funny. Imagine Megadeth with steel guitar. That’s what I did, and Dave Mustaine is the nicest guy in the world. Isn’t that crazy? It’s out of my world. You know me, I’m a traditional country guy. But the stuff I played on is awesome.”

Full details of the Megadeth album have yet to be released. As previously reported the recording lineup for Megadeth now includes Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler and Angra guitarist Kiko Louriero, joining founders Dave Mustaine and David “Junior” Ellefson.

Idolatry Launch GoFundMe Campaign For Post Accident On Tour

Edmonton black metallers Idolatry were involved in an auto accident on May 28, 2015 on Highway 17 east of Wawa, Ontario. While travelling down a gravel road their vehicle veered off the road and into the ditch. Lord Matzigkeitus (Vocals) sustained some cracked ribs during the accident ,but no other members were severely hurt. The black metal group has been on tour performing in Quebec, Ontario, and were on route to their show May 29th show in Brandon, MB, which would have been their last date of the tour and has now been cancelled. The band apologizes to fans who were hoping to see them perform.

The band have launched a GoFundMe.com campaign com to raise money for vehicle repairs and fuel to get back to Edmonton, Alberta. Go here for more information.
