Audio: Skinless – Serpenticide

Skinless is streaming “Serpenticide,” off of their forthcoming album Only the Ruthless Remain out June 2, 2015 via Relapse Records below. Featuring their classic late ’90s lineup of founding guitarist Noah Carpenter, vocalist Sherwood Webber, bassist Joe Keyser and drummer Bob Beaulac, with the recent addition of second guitar gun, Dave Matthews, and the record was recorded by Tom Case at Edie Road Studio and Doomsday Bunker Studio, both in upstate New York, with vocals tracked by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Primitive Man etc.) at Flatline Audio in Denver, CO, and the entire monster mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Nails, Integrity etc.) at Audiosiege in Portland, OR.

Stop Breathing Releasing V on August 11th

Oxnard, CA skate-punk outfit Stop Breathing will be releasing their second album V on August 11, 2015 via Burning Tree and Rotten To The Core Records. V was recorded in two sessions; the first in 2013 right before bassist Mike Carter moved to Portland, and the second nine months later with everything but bass. They sent the songs up to Portland, where Carter would track the bass lines and backing screams, after which it was mastered by Paul Miner at Buzz Bomb Sound Labs (Death By Stereo, H20).

With the departure of Carter to Portland and Jesse to school commitments, Stop Breathing enlisted Chris Goodrich (Catholic Spit) on bass and longtime friend Kile Garcia on second guitar, making their delivery all the more unstoppable. Goodrich will release a cassette version of V too through his label Bad Touch Records.

Trailer: Die Choking Recording Sessions For III

Die Choking has completed the recording sessions of their debut recording, III, which is due out later in 2015 with Will Yip (Lauryn Hill, Circa Survive, Blacklisted, Cop Problem) at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA. Vinyl will be released via Earsplit’s label The Compound. Stream a brief video teaser below.

Black Star Riders have confirmed five US tour dates in late April. The band features guitarist Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy, 21 Guns), vocalist Ricky Warwick (Thin Lizzy, The Almighty), guitarist Damon Johnson (Thin Lizzy, Alice Cooper, Brother Cane), drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (Y&T, Megadeth), and bassist Robbie Crane (Ratt, Lynch Mob). They are supporting their new album The Killer Instinct, which was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Mastodon)

The project features Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One, Guilt Machine) and Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gathering, Devin Townsend Project) and released their debut album The Diary at the end of March via InsideOutMusic.

Slipknot and Zippo Encore are partnering up for their upcoming Summer’s Last Stand US Tour with Lamb Of God, Bullet For My Valentine and Motionless In White. The members of Slipknot will be working with Zippo to design a collection of exclusive Zippo lighters that will be made available to fans during the tour.

Shining (Norway) Sign With Spinefarm Records

Shining will be releasing their next recordings through Spinefarm Records, expected out later in 2015. The album was mixed by Sean Bevan (Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle), and is about to be mastered in Los Angeles by Tom Baker of Baker Mastering. The brainchild of multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter Jørgen Munkeby, Norwegian collective Shining, fresh from a European tour guesting with Devin Townsend, have been breaking down musical barriers for the past 15 years, mixing progressive, technical metal, jazz, avant-garde and experimental sounds with cutting-edge visuals and blazing live performances.
