Audio: The Black Dahlia Murder – Abysmal Full Album Stream

Modern death metal masters The Black Dahlia Murder are streaming their new album Abysmal, out this Friday, in full from Metal Blade Records’ website. You can hear the album at this link:

 

Front man Trevor Strnad commented on Abysmal:

“Once the record started to come together we knew it was going to be something special,” states vocalist Trevor Strnad. “It’s more urgent, it has more dynamics, it’s a more emotive record, and it has a more raw, angry sound to it. It’s still million mile-per-hour death metal, but when you invest so much thought and emotion into what you’re creating you end up with a record that does stand out, and we can hold our heads up high and say yeah, this is our best work.”

Commenting about the album, the band released a statement:

“Once again, the band has returned with an ambitious concept album. This time, the story follows the wanderings of an unidentified man, stuck in a coma, as he journeys through his past lives. Each song is its own episode in a modern day, sort of The Twilight Zone-esque fashion. The unidentified man enters each world and is offered a choice: stay, or move on to the next in search of something better, something more “perfect.”

Shone commented on the release of Melk En Honing:

“Melk En Honing is a deeply personal album, in the same way that Drone Machines was, where each song has really etched itself into my being. A heavy hitting three-piece rock band based in Austin, The Wyldz collaborated with legendary engineer Steve Albini (Nirvana, The Pixies, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page) at the famed Electrical Audio studio in Chicago recording the entire 12-track album in just six days, completely analog. Nilihistic black metallers The Negation is streaming the second album trailer for Memento Mori, out July 6, 2015 (July 7 digital and North America) via Kaotoxin Records. The album was produced at the Hybreed Studio (Temple of Baal, Glorier Belli, Azziiard), with artwork by Metastazis (Morbid Angel, Behemoth, Watain).

Los Angeles rock outfit Dekades is streaming their guitar heavy, fuzzy and hypnotic self-titled EP below. The band continues to make name for themselves in the local music scene playing raw and intense shows all over southern California and opening for notable acts like The Mowgli’s, Dead Sara, Beta Machine and Big Black Delta. The veteran rhythm section of Chris Cano on drums and James Carter on bass rely more upon groove than rote aggression, mimicking the dark undercurrents of a pulsating human heart. Guitarist Josh Benson provides a rich wall of sound upon which multi-instrumentalist Matt Shores applies the chromatic textures. All this beautiful white noise is summoned behind vocalist/guitarist Arden Fisher, a tour de force in her own right.
