According to a published report by Newsweek, after over four decades on the air, MTV is closing the book on music and television history. MTV‘s parent company, Paramount Global, has confirmed plans to shut down all remaining MTV music channel in the UK by December 31, 2025, marking the end of an era for millions of fans who grew up watching music videos and related music shows such as Headbanger’s Ball, The Osbournes, Beavis And Butthead, MTV NEWS, Total Request Live (TRL), Aeon Flux,Yo! MTV Raps, Behind The Music, Reuniting The Band, 120 Minutes, and more on cable, satellite, broadcast, or streaming. The article speculates the same fate will also reach other countries, such as the US.
