MTV to Shut Down All Music Channels as Paramount Restructures Its Global Network

According to a published report by Newsweek, after over four decades on the air, MTV is closing the book on music and television history. MTV‘s parent company, Paramount Global, has confirmed plans to shut down all remaining MTV music channel in the UK by December 31, 2025, marking the end of an era for millions of fans who grew up watching music videos and related music shows such as Headbanger’s Ball, The Osbournes, Beavis And Butthead, MTV NEWS, Total Request Live (TRL), Aeon Flux,Yo! MTV Raps, Behind The Music, Reuniting The Band, 120 Minutes, and more on cable, satellite, broadcast, or streaming. The article speculates the same fate will also reach other countries, such as the US. The shutdown will affect several MTV-branded spin-offs across Europe, including MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV, and MTV Live, This comes less than a year after Paramount shut down many of their websites (MTVnews.com) and archives, wiping them from the internet. Beavis and Butt-Head to Return This Year on Paramount Plus

In a post to his Twitter account, Mike Judge, creator of Beavis and Butt-Head, showed off an early sketch of the new look of the much-loved characters returning this year with a brand new movie, a sequel to the 1996 movie Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, and more on Paramount+. Mike Judge will write and produce as well as voices for the main characters. Beavis and Butthead to Return with a New Movie on Paramount Plus

As previously reported, cultural icons and huge Metal fans Beavis and Butthead are returning to life with a new series for comedy central. Now Comedy Central has revealed they are returning with a new movie on Paramount+, the new streaming service from B and B’s parent company, and owner of MTV’s IP, Paramount. The show was created by Mike Judge (Daria, King of the hill, Extract, Office Space, Silicon Valley). No other details are available yet. The pair were recently seen in a SuperBowl commercial promoting the streaming service looking to compete with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and others. Beavis and Butthead helped put many Metal bands on the brains of the mainstream consciousness on their original run of their show in the early 1990s, such as Pantera, White Zombie, Morbid Angel, and others.
