Former Slipknot Drummer Joey Jordison Has Died, The Music World Mourns


Terrible news has come down as original Slipknot drummer, and early key member Joey Jordison has died. He was 46. According to a statement by Joey’s family delivered to Billboard.com, Joey was found dead in his sleep. According to TMZJoey‘s family said they will hold a private funeral service for him, but it’s unclear when Jordison also previously led bands such as Scar the Martyr, The Murder Dolls, Sinsaenum, Anal Blast, The Have Nots, and Vimic.He also notably recorded with OTEP and was featured on the now classic Roadrunner United album along with many other guest spots. Joey Jordison Performs An Acoustic Version Of Slipknot’s “(sic)” With Fans In Argentina


After Joey Jordison performed with Vimic at the Monsters Of Rock festival in Buenos Aires, he returned to his hotel where he found a ton of fans waiting outside to meet him. Unlike some musicians who would just go straight inside the hotel, Joey met each and every fan, and even performed an impromptu version of Slipknot‘s ‘(sic)’ with one of the their guitars. Fans gathered from around the USA and even the far reaches of the globe to attend the second annual Chicago Open Air festival. Although Rock On The Range, Louder than Life, Aftershock and others wear the crown for the greatest commercial rock and metal festivals in America, COA is poised to challenge both of those fests. Over 70,000 fans from everywhere came out to the fest in one of America’s greatest cities to see 40 bands on two stages. Chicago Open Air Announces Experiences With Pop Up Party Tonight


 

The countdown to the 2nd Chicago Open Air Festival is on, with just 7 weeks to go. Tonight their will be a Pop up party celebrating the Kickoff Dinner hosted by Danny Wimmer Presents as the official Chicago Open Air Kickoff Dinner, held at Kuma’s Corner (2900 W. Belmont) on Thursday, July 13 at 7 p.m. For $50, attendees will be treated to burgers, appetizers and beer, and will have the chance to hang out with host Jose Mangin, from SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal.
