Foregoing songs about masked serial killers, nightmares and mental asylums, Detroit Stories (earMUSIC), the twenty-first solo album from shock-rock legend Alice Cooper, has been written expressly as a tribute to his hometown of Detroit. Forget about guillotines, spiders, Vincent Price and Frankenstein. This is a more down-to-earth, less twisted and surreal version of Alice, even if the record does occasionally touch base with the likes of From the Inside.
New York City rockers The Shrieks are back with a killer Lou Reed/The Velvet Underground cover, ‘There She Goes Again’. The bands’ no-nonsense approach is tailor-made for Reed’s track. In the hands of frontman Luis Accorsi, Luis has tread on the same sacred ground as Lou’s New York City in the 1970s, which screams realness that you can feel. The band’s latest album Ode To Joe is out now, but the cover is a stand-alone single. The band shared their cover along with a performance video from the studio, which you can see below!
