Crown Lands claim the crown with this truly fearless album. Which crown? The crown of the New Kings of Progressive Rock. This virtuoso, exciting and engaging Canadian duo – guitarist/bassist/keys player Kevin Comeau and singer/drummer Cody Bowles – have delivered a record that, if you hold any prog in your soul, will leave you smiling from sated ear to sated ear. It’s also a record full of ideas, that will make you think, that fulfills its promise, and is well worth the wait – how many albums can we say that about? As Bowles sings on ‘Context’: “If life is a wheel/ Please let it spin/ And doors that may open/ Please let me in …” You’re in guys, you’re in.

ALBUM REVIEW: Banks Arcade – Future Lovers


New Zealand newcomers Banks Arcade describe themselves as a heavy metal boyband. That might sound like an oxymoron, but there truly isn’t a more accurate way to describe their sound. Their debut album, Future Lovers (UNFD), utilizes tried and true methods – intro designed to establish atmosphere ahead of a set blended seamlessly into the first track, a few radio-friendly bangers, and a closing epic while also implementing innovative musical components. Dirty Honey Shares Their “Down The Road” Suitcase Sessions Video

California rockers Dirty Honey took to the hills – with suitcases in tow – and shot an acoustic performance clip of their song “Down The Road’, for the newest installment in their “Suitcase Sessions” video series.  Due to the COVID-19 shutdown, Dirty Honey launched the series when the band had to cancel its plans to travel to Australia to record new music with producer Nick DiDia, as well as perform their first-ever concerts there and in Japan.  The video’s gentle transition from late afternoon to dusk is courtesy of cinematographer Nick Almanza and Director of Photography Jonathan Suarez
