Spencer Elden, who as a baby was featured on the album artwork of Nirvana’s classic album Nevermind (Geffen) is suing the surviving members of the band and the estate of late frontman Kurt Cobain for Child Pornography charges and restituition acccording to a record from court records s obtained by TMZ. There are many pop and rap songs with over a billion streams, but relatively few rock songs. “Smells Like Teen Spirit” was the lead track of Nevermind (Geffen/UMe), their second album, 30 years ago and went on to sell more than 30 million copies worldwide. Yesterday, Alice In Chains was awarded the prestigious Founders Award from Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture (MoPop). They were celebrated for their 30-year career by a cadre of their friends and peers playing AIC covers from the Rock and Metal world such as Metallica, Korn, Mastodon, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, and Fishbone, as well as members of Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Jane’s Addiction, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, and others. Alice In Chains also performed their first show since the end of their tour cycle for 2018’s Rainier Fog album in 2019. The event was This year’s celebration was broadcast virtually on Amazon Music’s Twitch Channel watched by more than 275,000 people and raised over $600,000 USD. Perhaps the most anticipated movie of 2021 is the new Batman movie The Batman! Warner Bros. closed out the DC Fandome weekend on Saturday night and Nirvana’s deep cut “Something In The Way” featured throughout the trailer of the film, based on the Batman Year One story by Frank Miller. The song was the final track on Nirvana’s breakout 1991 album Nevermind (Geffen Records). The trailer was shown during the highly anticipated panel for Matt Reeves’ (War For The Planet of The Apes), with a script by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire) and stars Robert Pattinson as The Dark Knight, Jeffrey Wright Commissioner Gordon, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Andy Serkis as Bruce Wayne’s trusted butler, Alfred, and Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham District Attorney Gil Colson.
