The Netflix show Black Mirror came back for season five today and one of the guest appearances is from Miley Cyrus. She shows up in the episode Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too and performs Nine Inch Nails hit ‘Head Like A Hole’ from their debut Pretty Hate Machine. This seems to be the case with the new album from Silver SnakesDeath and The Moon (Evil Ink Records). Silver Snakes broke on the scene as a progressive modern metal band with a lot of accolades. They hinted at a dynamic shift in style with the Scathe EP of industrial metal covers but now have fully gone over to the dark side, in the best way. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Scored Bird Box Movie, Listen To “Outside” Now


 

The Bird Box horror/thriller movie on Netflix has swept the country this week. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails have scored the film, although it wasn’t touted at the time of release. Now Trent has shared his thoughts on the fan reaction to the film and shared a track, “Outside”. Reznor and Ross have won numerous awards for their scores for films such as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network, Gone Girl, Man on Fire and The Fourth Estate.Continue reading

Supergroup is a term bandied about too much these days, including here at this very website. It’s hard to help it in the streaming music age, which coincidently has also fostered a new openness and freedom for artists to come together as never before. Perhaps we need another terminology to describe these collectives. How about “artistic hive-mind”? That’s one that definitely suits The Black Queen, who is more than a mere musical group, but carry these sensibilities in everything they do from songs and lyrics to album art, videos, t-shirts, and visual performances live. The sum of their recorded output is but one facet of what can be possible when they get together.

Louder Than Life Festival Canceled Due To Venue Conditions


Festival producer Danny Wimmer Presents announced that, due to the continuing rain and deterioration of conditions at Champions Park, this weekend’s Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, KY has unfortunately been canceled. Full refunds for fans are available at the links below. The fest was to have featured Nine Inch Nails, Alice In Chains, Godsmack, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Ice Cube, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown and more. As fans prepared to travel from far and wide for the second largest rock and metal music festival every year but the conditions of the venue, following rains that forced the shutdown of this past weekend’s Bourbon and Beyond Festival. Nine Inch Nails To Compose The Soundtrack To HBO’s Watchmen Series


Nine Inch Nails duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have been garnering respect and awards for the stellar soundtrack work the last few years on projects such as The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, Patriots Day, The Vietnam War, and The Fourth Estate. Now they have been hired to compose original music for HBO’s adaptation of DC Comics’ Watchmen graphic novel series. HBO’s often has legendary composers and soundtrack artists for their programs such as Ramin Djwadi, Jeff Beal, and Wendy and Lisa. Created by Alan Moore (V for VendettaWatchmen is one of the most acclaimed graphic novels of all time and the movie adaption in 2009 was fairly well received. The new series from Warner Bros. Television is among HBO’s most-anticipated series for next year. Showrunner/exec producer Damon Lindelof, fresh off of his acclaimed HBO drama The Leftovers. Nine Inch Nails began their highly anticipated new headline tour of America, the “Cold Black And Infinite Tour”, last night at the Comerica Theater, in Phoenix Arizona, and they will be back there tonight.
