New England Metal & Hardcore Fest launched back in 1999 and took place at the famed Palladium in Worcester through 2018. It was often held over two or three days, with multiple stages and top-tier acts like Megadeth, Manowar, DragonForce, Opeth, Between the Buried & Me, Meshuggah, Killswitch Engage, Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax, and more appearing through the years. It was always a “who’s who” of the metal and hardcore scene and was a “not to be missed” event each Spring. It took a brief break after 2018 but returned to much fanfare in 2023 with Parkway Drive, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, and more. Today, the 2024 edition has been announced and the lineup is stacked. It features literally every single band you’d want to see at a metal and hardcore festival. The two-day extravaganza will take place on September 21 and 22 at the Palladium. NEM&HCF faves Killswitch Engage will be playing a special 25th anniversary show and will headline the first night. Slaughter to Prevail will headline the second night. Continue reading

Disgrace Streaming True Enemy In Entirety
Southern California death metal infused hardcore outfit Disgrace will release their debut album True Enemy on March 24, 2015 via Closed Casket Activities and are streaming it below.
Since their 2011 incarnation, Disgrace has released the brutal Songs Of Suffering 12″ EP and a split 7″ with Harness, but the band now grabs the scene by the throat with their mammoth True Enemy debut LP, delivering their dynamic and demoralizing brew of hook-laden, infectious, death metal-infused hardcore with more persuasive power than ever. Recorded and produced at The Pit in Van Nuys, California by vocalist Taylor Young and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Integrity, Nails, Blacklisted), on True Enemy the band’s venomous elements align into one of the most punishing and contagious releases of the year, heavily due to the empowering and clever riffage of guitarist Kyle Thomas.
They will be out on the True Enemy tour in April on a run of dates, which is posted below.

Suburban Scum Releasing New Album This Summer
New Jersey hardcore outfit Suburban Scum will be releasing their upcoming release this summer via Closed Casket Activities. The album was recently tracked by Will Putney at The Machine Shop (Body Count, Vision Of Disorder, The Acacia Strain) and takes the straightforward, hungry hardcore energy of their previous recordings to a dynamic new level of ferociousness.
Since 2010 Suburban Scum has released a solid pile of recordings, including their debut Infernal War EP with Ride The Fury Records, the 2012-released Hanging By A Thread EP on 6131 Records, a split with Incendiary via Closed Casket Activities and most recently a split 12″ with Xibalba also on Closed Casket released last year. Their clear-cut delivery is elementally hardcore to the bone; completely enraged and outspoken, with enough metal to make its presence known and not overthrow the core of the songs, their lyrics streetwise but realistic, not overly dramatic. Having made their presence known on tour with the likes of Expire, Rotting Out, Backtrack, Harm’s Way, Bitter End, Downpresser and many others, and their energetic performances at major festivals including This Is Hardcore, Sound & Fury, United Blood, Rain Fest and more have been well-documented with Youtube visual evidence and mass reports of bodily harm during performances.
The band has announced their upcoming tour and dates are posted below.
