Turn On. Tune In. Drop Out. That’s the overarching feeling with the newest Greta Van Fleet, Starcatcher (Lava/Republic Records). Starcatcher has swirling browns and oranges reminiscent of the seventies. It evokes lava lamps and black light posters. There is an earthiness to Starcatcher, a richness in tone. It’s an album that is felt as much as it is listened to. Starcatcher’s sound is as close to analog as you can get in this digital age.

Greta Van Fleet Books More USA Headline Tour Dates Next Fall


Rockers Greta Van Fleet have booked additional US tour dates for next fall. The next leg of the “March Of The Peaceful Army” tour, set to kick off in Kansas City on Saturday, September 21 will include first-time visits to Kansas City and Irvine, and the band performing a blend of fan-favorites and some brand new tunes. Shannon & The Clams will support on all dates. Pre-sales for Peaceful Army fan-club members begin Wednesday, May 15, and the public on-sale starts Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. local time. The band kicked off 2019 with sold-out shows on the band’s first-time tours of Japan, Australia, South America, and Mexico. The group is currently on a four-week tour of North America and will then head to Europe on June 27 to play a series of major outdoor festivals and some stand-alone headline dates. Greta Van Fleet Planning New Album For 2019 Release


Greta Van Fleet bassist Sam Kiszka has confirmed in a new interview with Australia’s Heavy Mat the band has begun writing for their second full-length album, and expect it to release later in 2019. Anthem Of The Peaceful Army released in October from Lava Records/Republic, one of the largest record labels in the entire world. Anthem Of The Peaceful Army debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s rock chart and No. 3 on the all-genre albums chart last year. It has also reached the Top 10 in Canada, Italy, and Germany. Kiszka commented “We were actually talking, and we all decided earlier this month that we need to do a record as soon as possible,” he said (hear audio below). “So the one thing I can say right now is that you can definitely expect Album 2 in 2019.” They have been nominated for four Grammy Awards; one for each major rock category — “Best Rock Album”, “Best Rock Song”, “Best Rock Performance”, and a “Best New Artist”. Jake Kiszka of Greta Van Fleet Talks New Double EP


Greta Van Fleet is likely the hottest band in the USA right now. Their mix of classic rock majesty and surprising maturity and skill for such young musicians is making fans from all over take notice. Ghost Cult caught up with GVF guitarist Jake Kiszka right after their amazing performance at Rock Allegiance Festival in Camden, New Jersey.
