Ghost Cult ‘s Chief Editor Keefy caught up with uber-producer Will Putney (Fit For An Autopsy, producer for Every Time I Die, Gojira, Body Count, Knocked Loose) is releasing his new album with grindcore/hardcore metal supergroup END, Splinters From An Ever-Changing Face, this June 5th via Closed Casket Activities. We caught up with Will to discuss the origins of END, which includes members of Counterparts (Brendan Murphy — Vocals), The Dillinger Escape Plan (Billy Rymer — Drums), Fit For An Autopsy (Will Putney — Guitars), Misery Signals/Shai Hulud (Gregory Thomas — Guitars), and Reign Supreme (Jay Pepito — Drums), the new album, the bands writing process, the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on both of Will’s bands and his production work, how he got started in music as an intern with Machine, and much more. Download 2020 Recast as a Virtual Festival with Iron Maiden, System of A Down, KISS and More

Download Festival was one of the first major festivals in the heavy music work canceled due o the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Now we are getting a virtual festival set to take place. Mark off June 12-14 for some prime rock and metal viewing, with many top acts taking part. The Download TV weekend will be split into day and evening programming, with tailor-made shows featuring Iron Maiden, System of a Down and KISS leading the way. KISS will headline the Friday (June 12) festivities, with a replay of standout moments from their huge 2015 headline set. Iron Maiden head up the Saturday (June 13) programming with nostalgic performances, “Legacy of the Beast” snippets, as well as “something just for Download TV.” And System of a Down will close out the virtual festival on Sunday (June 14) with footage from their performances in 2005, 2011 and 2017. Among the other bands appearing are Alter Bridge, Alestorm, Alter Bridge, Babymetal, Baroness, Bush, Creeper, Deftones, Disturbed, Employed To Serve, Fozzy, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Gojira, Killswitch Engage, Korn,Lacuna Coil, Mastodon, The Pretty Reckless, Twin Temple, Volbeat and more. Download 2020 is Officially Canceled

The 2020 edition of Download UK festival has officially been canceled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The event was set to take place on June 12-14 at Castle Donington, with headlining performances by Iron Maiden, KISS and System Of A Down with additional bands such as Deftones, Korn, The Offspring, Disturbed, Gojira, Alestorm, Black Veil Brides, Daughtry, and Of Mice & Men and many more. ALBUM REVIEW: Intronaut – Fluid Existential Inversions

We’re three months in 2020 already and a lot of crazy stuff has happened. Dealing with all the craziness of being an election year, Coronavirus, natural disasters (Puerto Rico had hundreds of earthquakes for the whole month of January), and a bunch of other strange situations seem to keep happening every day. But the question coming in the year was: “are the music releases going to keep coming as solid as they did in 2019?” and I believe that Intronaut’s Fluid Existential Inversions (Metal Blade Records) assure us that the year will still be as solid as the previous ones where we’ve been getting real quality music from bands that are consistent. Intronaut gives us a very interesting album that proves the musical dexterity of each one of the members of this Los Angeles band. Adding the services from drummer Alex Rudinger (ex-The Haarp Machine/ex-The Faceless) gives this record a major boost in the percussive side and makes the overall musical experience a very enjoyable one. Deftones Announces a Full US Tour with Gojira and Poppy

Deftones have announced their much-rumored North American headlining tour this summer, with support coming from Gojira and Poppy. The Live Nation-produced twenty tour date run, which will kick off on July 27 and conclude on September 5, will go on sale to the general public this Friday, February 14 at 1:00 p.m. local time. Citi is the official presale credit card of the Deftones summer tour 2020. As such, Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Tuesday, February 11tat 12 p.m. EST/9 a.m. PST until Thursday, February 13 at 10 p.m. local time through Citi Entertainment.
