Anthrax Shares More Early Memories in Episode #3 of Their 40 for 40 Series


Anthrax has shared its third video in their series celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the band with their “Anthrax 40 for 40” series of videos. The third clip features the band’s thoughts of making their demo, going on their first tour, the release of Fistful of Metal (Megaforce), kicking out Dan Lilker and Neil Turbin, adding Frank Bello, and more!  The full schedule is below and will honor each album in chronological order from the beginning. The 11-week series will include video contributions from Chuck D, Corey Taylor, Dave Grohl, Dave Mustaine, Gary Holt, Gene Simmons, Henry Rollins, John Carpenter, Kerry King, Mike Patton, Nergal, Norman Reedus, Michael Poulsen, Rob Zombie, Robert Trujillo, Roger Miret, Darryl McDaniels (RUN DMC), Slash, Tom Morello and more. Surviving Members of Rush Comment on Neil Peart’s Death, Other Rockers React


As new spreads around the globe of the passing of drumming and Progressive Music Giant Neil Peart, reactions have been swift and the outpouring deep. Beginning with a statement from Rush band members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, many icons of the music world themselves, including many great Canadians, commented on the profound impact Peart had on us all. Van Halen Releases “Van Halen II” Forty Years Ago


Forty years ago today Van Halen dropped their second album less than a year after their debut Van Halen set the music world on fire. In just a year, the band had become a household name, and headliner nationally, and Eddie Van Halen, in particular, had graced the cover of many magazines for his sweet shred skills. Wanting to strike while the iron was hot, the band came right back with  Van Halen II (Warner Bros.), made up of their infamous pre-record deal demos made with Gene Simmons and Ted Templeman, and a few new songs. Kiss To Reissue 1978 Solo Albums In Deluxe Set


On this day in 1978 the four founding members of Kiss: Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss released their solo albums on the same day. They are charted and sold millions since Kiss were the biggest band in the world at this time. The band will now release the ‘The Solo Albums – 40th Anniversary Collection’, a limited-edition 180-gram 4LP box set by Casablanca/UMe that’s earmarked for release on October 19th. Watch Gene Simmons And Ace Frehley Play Kiss Covers In Australia


KISS member Gene Simmons was joined by his former bandmate Ace Frehley on stage in Sydney, Australia last night (8/31) to run through some songs together. They were both in joking moods and high spirits as they jammed and Gene told stories about how Ace won his spot in the band at his fateful audition. Watch fan-filmed footage of them playing Kiss classics ‘Deuce’ and ‘Rock And Roll All Nite’  together. Ace is on tour as he gets ready to release his new album, Spaceman, on October 19th via eOne Music.
