CONCERT REVIEW: The 69 Eyes – The Bites – Budderside at The Machine Shop


It was a fine, flowering Friday when The Machine Shop opened its doors for a night of hearty rock and ghoulish gothicness. The prized concert lounge hosts everyone from legends to rising stars making it an ideal stop for the Death of Darkness USA tour. The 69 Eyes have brought their dark music expertise back to the states for a month-long run with support from The Bites and Budderside. Known as Helsinki’s vampires, this hard-working Finnish band has not changed their lineup in thirty-two years and they have routinely been on tour proving their exuberant resolution. CONCERT REVIEW: Exodus – Exploding Zombies – Jesus Wept Live at The Machine Shop


The nights are getting colder in Michigan, but that did not deter devoted metal heads from trekking out to Flint’s revered venue, The Machine Shop last week. Thrash legends Exodus came to town gifting us with a headlining show. CONCERT REVIEW: Steel Panther – Moon Fever Live at The Machine Shop


The holiday season is here and the zany hair metal act  Steel Panther is on the road to get you in the festive spirit. The LA glam group is on a short run titled the “On the Prowl Winter Holidaze” tour where they are supporting their latest album, On the Prowl (Republic Records) that came out earlier this year. One of their twelve tour stops includes Michigan’s Vehicle City. Flint is home to the independent and nationally acclaimed music venue, The Machine Shop. This iconic concert hub was an optimal choice to host this racy, yet lovable group of stylishly bold fellas for two nights in a row. CONCERT REVIEW: Death Angel – Exploding Zombies – Die-Sect Live at The Machine Shop


 

The unexpecting town of Flint is home to one the nation’s most celebrated independent music venues. The Machine Shop is a nationally acclaimed medium-sized concert hall that has been hosting, supporting, and celebrating bands for over twenty years. They accommodate a variety of acts and tend to favor heavier genres. This diamond in the rough was the perfect spot for Thrash Metal legends Death Angel to put on a headlining show. The boys from the Bay Area brought their magic to Michigan on one of their off days from the Klash of the Titans run. Kreator and Sepultura teamed up for a thrash-filled tour with Death Angel and Spiritworld as special guests. The hard-working quintet sprinkled in a few headlining gigs during the month-long tour and The Shop was lucky enough to snag one of them.  Continue reading


CONCERT REVIEW: Cradle of Filth – Frayle Live at The Machine Shop 


Flint, Michigan, might be known for the crime, cars, and crisis. Yet this down-and-out town has more to offer than that. Music fans know it best for being home to The Machine Shop. This nationally acclaimed music venue has been hosting, supporting, and celebrating bands for twenty years. This special concert lounge has gained its reputation because of their genuine love of live music and doting on its patrons. They bring to mid-Michigan audiences an enthusiasm and care most venues don’t bother with anymore. It was a bright, spring evening last weekend when a group of goth kids formed a line outside this beloved hall’s doors. They were exposed to more sunlight than what they were probably used to, but it was worth it because the Symphonic Black Metal Titans, Cradle of filth, were in town.  Continue reading
