Check out our 2024 Mayhem Fest preview for their comeback and a history of the fest with all of its many highs and lows!
The anticipated return of what many consider the most important traveling heavy music festival, Mayhem Festival, presented by Hit Parader and Live Nation, will take place in just under a week on Saturday, October 12 at Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernadino, CA, where it began over 13 years ago. The fest features Bad Omens, Parkway Drive, Architects, Jinjer, August Burns Red, Throwdown, Poppy, Kittie, Suicide Silence, The festival is gearing things up and have revealed set times for the event.
New England extreme metal powerhouse, Escuela Grind, will release its new LP, Dreams on Algorithms, on October 18 via MNRK Heavy (High on Fire, Zakk Wylde). Recorded at Salem, Massachusetts’ GodCity studio with producer Kurt Ballou, and mastered by Nick Townsend (Dr. Dre, Betty Davis) the record is the highly anticipated follow-up to Escuela Grind’s celebrated 2022 full-length debut, Memory Theater. Pre-order/save ‘Dreams on Algorithms’ at this location. Today, Escuela Grind releases a video for the new single, “Concept of God”, directed by Seby X Martinez for Negative Kitty (Body Count, [adult swim]). Speaking on the track, the band offers, “‘Concept of God’ is about the chaos that ensues when humans come together; the good and bad things that happen when opposites and like-minded individuals attract. As previously reported, Mayhem Festival will return as a single-destination event in Southern California on October 12, 2024. 23 bands will perform at the festival, which will be held at Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California, where Mayhem first began. Bad Omens will headline, along with Parkway Drive, Architects, Jinjer, Poppy, Kittie, August Burns Red, and many more at the list below. 19 bands will perform at the festival for the first time and tickets are not on sale yet. In a story we have been tracking and with news first broken by Lambgoat, Escuela Grind has finally responded to their claims of abuse, gaslighting, and mismanagement from their former Tour Manager and Driver. Following a series of headline grabbing issues, their former tour driver, Destiny Harper, was dismissed, and she leveled allegations of gross misconduct against the band and tour manager. On Wednesday, March 6th, Lambgoat received a letter from the attorney of former tour manager Chris Cotter, addressing the allegations made by Harper. Now the band have responded via a post on Instagram. They are still being dragged by friends and foes the world over on all their posts, but at least they cleared the air. They claim the matter is put to bed after this post. Hopefully, from here on out, they let the music do the talking. Continue reading
In a unique tribute to Czech classical composer, Bedřich Smetanat, black metal band, Cult Of Fire will join their forces with the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague.
