Mastodon Announce New Album and Release New Single and Video for “Pushing the Tides”

Prog metal masters Mastodon have officially announced their new  album, Hushed and Grim, due out October 29th, 2021, via Reprise Records. Comprised of fifteen tracks and dedicated to their late manager Nick John, Hushed and Grim is the first new Mastodon full-length studio album since 2017’s Emperor of Sand. That album was Ghost Cult’s album of the year. Hushed and Grim was produced by David Bottrill (Tool, Rush, Muse, Peter Gabriel). Mastodon Records New Single, Releasing Soon

In a new interview, Mastodon has revealed that they have recorded a new single, that they will release soon. It will be the first new music since the band released 2017’s Emperor of Sand (Reprise). The band recently opened their own new studio and will spend part of 2019 recording their new album there. The band hits the road in Europe next week. The track, potentially timed to release with the tour will feature frequent collaborator and inspiration to Mastodon, Scott Kelly of post-Metal legends Neurosis, who will also feature on the tour and perform live with the band.  Continue reading →


All Hail The Yeti – Highway Crosses

Reputation is a weird and wonderful thing. See, All Hail The Yeti haven’t really done anything wrong on their first two releases, yet depending on who you speak to, the picture painted isn’t always positive which, considering the component elements of their sound – polished Sludge Metal with mainstream stomp elements and a knack for vocal hooks – is quite surprising. Yet each album cycle is a chance to stake a new claim, and by enlisting Grammy award-winning producer Warren Ryker the Yeti is showing ambition on third album Highway Crosses (minusHEAD).
