Would you like to know what’s one of my favorite aspects of metal? It’s that it’s too goddam stubborn to ever go away. As long as there is breath in a metalhead’s lungs they’re going to find ways to tune lower or crank in even more blast beats into a song. As To The End (Reaper Entertainment) roared from my car’s stereo is when I realized that Memoriam is Karl Willets’ latest musical endeavor despite already having a hall of fame run with Bolt Thrower. Bless that man.

EP REVIEW: Carcass – Despicable – Nuclear Blast Records


Over thirty years ago, England’s own Carcass came to the scene and shared their glorification of grind and gore. The unhinged and manic sound they conjured found an audience and quickly gained popularity, along with their contemporaries Napalm Death and Godflesh. The surge of the extreme had its time in the sun, but after their 10 year hiatus, Carcass came back in a slightly different mood. In 2013, the group took their well-known viciousness and molded it in with more melody on their sixth full-length, Surgical Steel (Nuclear Blast). They married Grindcore and Melodic Death Metal on that record which got a lot of attention and reminded everyone why these guys are such an original act. After seven years, the band is back again with their EP, Despicable (Nuclear Blast). In just four songs, Carcass takes their significant union of sounds and exemplifies them with new levels of pandemonium.   Continue reading


Carcass Shares New Single – “The Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue”


Deathmetal and Grindcore legends Carcass will release a new EP, Despicable, this fall via Nuclear Blast Records. Their first new music in seven years will feature three  brand new tracks, including ‘The Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue’  that was released today, as well as the previously revealed song ‘Under The Scalpel Blade.’ The EP, scheduled for release on October 30th and will be available digitally, on CD and limited edition cassette and vinyl, which can be pre-ordered now at the link below, will be the precursor to their next full-length album, due in 2021..
