Linkin Park Launches Mysterious 100-Hour Countdown Timer, Will Announce Their Comeback Next Week

Linkin Park has launched a mysterious 100-hour countdown timer on its web site and official social media accounts. The same countdown timer was shared by the Instagram account of Welcome To Rockville, adding to longtime speculation that some of the band’s surviving members will perform at next year’s edition of the Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festival, and likely all of their 2025 festivals, as well as other major music festivals. Past announcements of major bands booked for DWP fests for the following year such as Metallica, Slipknot, Foo Fighters, Guns N Roses and Pantera are announced ahead of full lineups which follow after. For months on end different people in the music industry have been dropping rumors that some members of Linkin Park will reunite next year for a tour or a tribute tour with a female singer. Rumors connected to the band includes Amy Lee of Evanescence, Hailey Williams of Paramore, and also potentially Deryck Whibley of Sum 41, who are retiring at the end of their current tour in January 2025. Linkin Park has been inactive as a regular band other than legacy releases and boxed sets since the death of frontman Chester Bennington in 2017. The countdown timer is scheduled to end on Wednesday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. PDT.  Continue reading

That’s not to say the means by which to achieve this is easy, hence the album title.Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: While She Sleeps – Sleeps Society

While it may be OK to not be OK, as the main refrain of the thumping anthemic opener ‘Enlightenment?’ insists (and while it absolutely is, we still have much work to do as a collective mass to support each other), Sleeps Society (Sleeps Brothers, in assoc. with Search & Destroy, Spinefarm, UNFD, Universal) takes a step and seeks to provide a place, a community packed with a kinship of like-minded souls who will be there with and for each other. It would be easy for the Sleeps Society (a Patreon-based family) to be empty words and hollow platitudes, but there is integrity to the missives that are as important to the overall point of While She Sleeps in 2021 as the songs. Continue reading
