20-26! A number, another Summer!!! Or a reprisal and dual 1987 musical gift to all of us who remember. As I write this, as a clenched-fist salute to all of us who all of us were listening on all levels. Revolutionary musicality: Guns N Roses bringing in a hard-nosed, no-holds-barred truth about the streets and addiction with 1987’s Appetite For Destruction (Geffen Records). Songs like “Welcome To The Jungle” and “My Michelle” threw a monkey wrench into the oversaturated eighties glam rock phenomenon narrative GNR shut down with their truth. Continue reading →
