INTERVIEW: Mark Tremonti on Frank Sinatra, Raising Money for Charity, and Alter Bridge and Creed News


Ghost Cult had the honor of chatting with Mark Tremonti of Tremonti, Alter Bridge, and Creed fame on the eve of the release of his new solo albumTremonti Sings Sinatra! The album is not only a smashing covers album paying tribute to “The Chairman of The Board” – Frank Sinatra, but also with a mission to raise money and awareness of The National Downs Syndrome Society. Mark discussed his inspiration for this project – his daughter, his lifelong obsession with Frank Sinatra, his love of Jazz, how he chose the songs, working with Sinatra’s former bandmates and producers, a potential sequel to the album, and updates on both Alter Bridge and Creed!

Corey Taylor of Slipknot Launches Non-Profit Organization Aiding Members Of Military And First Responders With PTSD


Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has launched The Taylor Foundation, a non-profit initiative that aims to help local organizations with their continued efforts to provide assistance and essential resources for members of the military and first responders living with post-traumatic stress disorder. Corey has partnered with Fandiem (known for their work with countless artists such as Metallica) and BandsInTown to give fans a chance to win a trip to London, England to attend his concert at the Palladium on October 17, including two VIP passes, round-trip flights plus a three-night hotel stay for two.

Matthew Heafy of Trivium Joins the Board of Directors of Stack Up


Matthew “Kiichichaos” Heafy, frontman of Trivium, has joined the Board of Directors of Stack Up, a military charity 501(c)3 military charity dedicated to supporting US and Allied Veterans’ mental health through gaming and working to end the epidemic of veteran suicide. Heafy, the son of a US Marine Corps veteran, has sold millions of records and runs the top music channel on Twitch, where he has raised thousands of dollars for Stack Up. As part of the board, Heafy will guide Stack Up as it expands its mission to provide Supply Crate gaming care packages and round-the-clock mental health support to recuperating veterans and active duty servicemembers through the Stack Up Overwatch Program (StOP).

Listen To James Hetfield Discuss co-Founding a Non-Profit with All Within My Hands


Metallica has shared a clip of James Hetfield discussing the impetus for the band for founding their All Within My Hands foundation. The band initially wanted to raise money for charity, but now seeks to make an impact not just by donating money, but creating outreach programs that really help reshape the lives of the less fortunate. In this clip, Hetfield discusses the Metallica Scholars program which donated 15 million dollars to vocational schools and community colleges. The Metallica Scholars initiative was created in 2019 through a partnership between All Within My Hands Foundation (AWMH) and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), a Washington, D.C.-based organization representing the countries more than 1,000 community colleges.
