Disgrace Streaming True Enemy In Entirety

disgrace

Southern California death metal infused hardcore outfit Disgrace will release their debut album True Enemy on March 24, 2015 via Closed Casket Activities and are streaming it below.

Since their 2011 incarnation, Disgrace has released the brutal Songs Of Suffering 12″ EP and a split 7″ with Harness, but the band now grabs the scene by the throat with their mammoth True Enemy debut LP, delivering their dynamic and demoralizing brew of hook-laden, infectious, death metal-infused hardcore with more persuasive power than ever. Recorded and produced at The Pit in Van Nuys, California by vocalist Taylor Young and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Integrity, Nails, Blacklisted), on True Enemy the band’s venomous elements align into one of the most punishing and contagious releases of the year, heavily due to the empowering and clever riffage of guitarist Kyle Thomas.

Trollhättan, Sweden’s disparaged hardcore crust outfit Gust is streaming their first official music video for “Reality Chokes,” directed by Jimmy Olausson and is out via Southern Lord. Watch it below.

Gust released their self-titled, sophomore LP via Southern Lord in September 2014, a breakneck, nearly half-hour-long album displaying a unique style of crust-infused hardcore and talented songwriting from the young act. Self-recorded at Fvck Life Studios, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Warcry, From Ashes Rise, Deathreat) at Audiosiege, who also supplies guest vocals, Gust is a crushing and dynamic album where the band unleashes a maelstrom of cutting edge demolition, with cerebral elements continually emerging from the shadows with an almost ethereal effect. Fans of Cursed, Oathbreaker, Rise And Fall, and now-labelmates The Secret, Baptists and Dead In The Dirt will no doubt find themselves addicted to the band’s harsh output. Stream all of Gust and order the digital and/or blood red vinyl below.

Reunited Skinless Releasing Only The Ruthless Remain on June 2nd

skinless

Reunited New York death metallers Skinless will be releasing their first new studio offering in nearly a decade titled Only The Ruthless Remain, out via Relapse Records on June 2nd, 2015 in North America (June 1st in the UK/EU and May 29th in DE/Benelux/Finland).

Skinless was forged in 1992 by guitarist Noah Carpenter with one goal: to be the heaviest band in creation. Following a variety of personnel changes and two demos, Skinless established a solid, dedicated lineup from 1997-2001 in the form of Carpenter, vocalist Sherwood Webber, bassist Joe Keyser and drummer Bob Beaulac. This version of the band would later become known as the “classic” lineup.

Recorded by Tom Case at Edie Road Studio and Doomsday Bunker Studio, both in upstate New York, with vocals tracked by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Primitive Man etc.) at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Nails, Integrity etc.) at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon, Only The Ruthless Remain boasts seven tracks of their signature fusion of punishing, concussively heavy grooves and surgically precise, blasting severity. Only The Ruthless Remain is poised to stand among the most sadistic yet addictive death metal offerings of the year.

Comments the band,

“Stockpile your beers, gather your minions, it’s time to get RUTHLESS.”

The band has a couple of upcoming live appearances:

May 21: Maryland Deathfest @ Soundstage – Baltimore, MD
Jun 21: Hellfest Open Air – Clisson (FR)

Philadelphia thrash-grindcore trio Die Choking has completed writing 13 new songs and will be entering Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA in early April to begin recording their debut full length with producer Will Yip (Lauryn Hill, Circa Survive, Blacklisted, Cop Problem). Stream the video with band drummer Joshua Cohen (also of Cop Problem) here.

Stream the music video for “Tonsil” below.

Die Choking shoved their second EP of hyperactive, earthmoving grind/thrash down the world’s collective throat, with II. Comprised of members previously/currently hailing from other acts Total Fucking Destruction, Cop Problem, Burden and more, the band follows up their self-titled debut EP with another five tracks in less than six minutes, the material swarming with even more enraged and psychotic songwriting, and more of an ominous powerviolence approach, while stepping things up in the songwriting department and delivery on all levels. II was recorded and mixed at Mark It Zero Studios with Dan O’Hare (Brutal Truth) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Tragedy, Baptists, Code Orange Kids) at Audiosiege. The 7″ is 300 copies on vibrant red vinyl, each copy joined by a document that function’s as a real, personal Living Will, in the theme of the closing track, “Tonsil.” Fans of Wormrot, Brutal Truth, Human Remains, Magrudergrind and Noisear don’t walk away without it.

Poison Idea Releasing Confuse and Conquer April 7th

poison idea

Poison Idea is releasing Confuse & Conquer, their first new album since 2006’s Latest Will and Testament, out April 7, 2015 via Southern Lord Recordings.

Soaking up respect from generations of hardcore punks and dishing none out, the dastardly denizens of mid-paced punk shred are in trademark form on Confuse & Conquer. With longstanding members Jerry A (vocals), Eric “The Vegetable” Olsen (guitar) and Chris “Spider” Carey (bass) alloyed by the fresh faces of Nathan “Skinny” Richardson (drums) and Brandon Bentley (guitar), POISON IDEA’s brand new full-length proves itself both identifiable and rewarding to listeners who have encountered them at any point from their 1980 birth onwards. Inventive beyond its steadfast roots, yet altogether as blunt as a stagediver’s knee hurtling towards your face, Confuse & Conquer sees the band wasting not a single second on non-music activities, riding high on this wave of creativity. Their forceful hardcore pummel is underwritten with dark humor, rage, disdain, and moments of real melancholy well beyond the usual remit of the genre, but it’s to be expected of Portland’s nihilistic champions, proudly unaligned with any other sound out there. They were there at the beginning and they’ll be there at the end, and in the meantime they have a lot more punk rock left to produce.

Confuse & Conquer was recorded in their hometown by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust) and mastered by Brad Boatright (From Ashes Rise) at Audiosiege over the closing few months of 2014, and will see release via Southern Lord on the 7th of April on CD, LP and digital formats. Additionally, expanded reissues of seminal POISON IDEA titles War All The Time, Feel The Darkness and more are also in the works for the coming years.

Southern Lord Recordings owner Greg Anderson issued on the signing and upcoming album, “I’ve been a rabid POISON IDEA fiend ever since seeing them decimate the legendary Gorilla Gardens in Seattle in 1985. Having the opportunity to work with this legendary band all these years later is an inexplicable honor.”

Formed in 1980, POISON IDEA became a household name in the hardcore/punk scenes early in their career, and are known as one of the most notoriously in-your-face acts in the American musical underworld, with an enraged, high-energy live set even more rambunctious than the massive roster of singles, EPs, full-length studio and live releases and more, across a realm of labels including Pusmort, Alchemy, American Leather, Bitzcore, Tim/Kerr, Taang!, Farewell, TKO, Southern Lord, Candlelight, and their own Fatal Erection. They’ve been an incredibly influential act to major performers including Nirvana, Pantera, Napalm Death, Machine Head, Eyehategod, Emperor, Turbonegro and an endless list of others.
