When any kind of metal band promotes their new material as “the heaviest music they’ve ever made”, it’s usually met with eye rolls from fans who have heard this very promise time and time again from their favorite groups who failed to deliver. Hearing this from The Amity Affliction, a group that has always stood on the lighter side of metalcore, I was one of the skeptical ones. Ever since the Australian quartet released their instant classic Let The Ocean Take Me in 2014, each album following has paled in comparison.
After twenty-two years of being one of the most renowned and influential bands in post-hardcore and emo, it would be respectable to take a hiatus and bask in the legacy for a good while. However, Silverstein continues to knock out new material consistently, never wringing dry of inspiration and reinforcing their veteran status. With new album Misery Made Me (UNFD), the hardcore maestros let their creativity flow freely without forcing anything to appease anyone’s expectations – including their own.
Punk Rock legends Silverstein have announced their highly anticipated new album Misery Made Me, releasing May 6th, 2022 via the UNFD label. Pre-orders are available at the link below. Misery Made Me features guests Andrew Neufeld of Comeback Kid, singer/songwriter Trevor Daniel, Devil Wears Prada’s Mike Hranica and nothing, nowhere. The band also dropped a new single and video for the track “Ultraviolet” which you can see below. Additionally the band has announced a slew of tour dates with Beartooth, along with their appearance at the most talked about music event of 2022, When We Were Young Festival. Continue reading →
Deez Nuts is streaming their music video for “What’s Good?,” here, off their new album Word Is Bond, out April 21, 2015 in North America and April 27, 2015 in Europe via Century Media Records.
Word Is Bond showcases frontman JJ Peters at his most real. It’s a short, sharp shock of pure honesty delivered in inimitable old-school style, and shouts loud and proud that Peters, guitarist Matt ‘RealBad’ Rogers, bassist Sean Kennedy and drummer Alex Salinger are here to stay. The half Melbourne / half New York City based four piece has been touring the world constantly for seven years, becoming one of the most well know hardcore bands Australia has ever produced.
And sure, Deez Nuts still go harder than any other motherfucker in the room but now, with Word Is Bond – their fourth album, produced by Andrew Neufeld (Comeback Kid) and Shane Frisby (The Ghost Inside, Bury Your Dead), Peters is confronting exactly what happens when the party stops. And with a little help from his boys Drew York (Stray From The Path, who also guests on ‘Party At The Hill’) and Sam Carter (Architects), he decided to open up like never before.
