Industrial Metal ingenue I Ya Toyah has released a new single “Dream Not To Dream (Remix)!” The darkwave-inspired new take features vocals by Stabbing Westward’s Christopher Hall; the track is also remixed by him, too. The remix and original track “Dream Not To Dream” are both taken from I Ya Toyah’s forthcoming EP, I Am The Fire, due out on April 5th via the artists own label Femme Fatale Records. The EP is produced with and mixed by Stabbing Westward’s Walter Flakus. To access the cover art for I Am The Fire please click here. To pre-order the EP, please click here. In a post to Instagram, legendary New York City band Orange 9mm has reformed with a new lineup for 2024. Although no firm plans have been announced as yet, we’d expect shows and festival appearances could be plentiful, and hopefully new music. A seperate post touted at least a new song and “maybe some shows!” Originally formed in 1992 by Chaka Malik (Burn, Ghost Decibels), joined by returning guitarist Taylor McLam, along with new additions drummer Chris Enriquez (Spotlights, Total Meltdown, On The Might of Princes, Julie Christmas, Lightower, Burn), and bassist Cory Bonfiglio (Total Meltdown). The posts also shouted out integral past members of the band, such as Chris Traynor (ex-Helmet, Rival Schools, now of Bush fame). Orange 9MM released a demo via Revelation Records and three albums, including top-tier mid-1990s releases Driver Not Included (East-West Records) in 1995 and Tragic (Atlantic Records) in 1996. You can read public posts from the band and Chris below!

As we previously reported a few weeks ago, Music retail giant Sam Ash has announced they are closing 18 more stores across the country, including historic locations in Huntington, Long Island, Connecticut, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and Clearwater, Florida. Now it is confirmed another store on the list of stores closing includes their flagship store on 34th Street in Manhattan, New York City. This news is devastating to the music world. The brand has not made public statements about which stores are close. The store is now full of signs touting a closing and liquidation sale. The current location is across the street from Hammerstein Ballroom, but the once iconic store founded in 1924 by Samuel Ash from Brooklyn, was located at the infamous Musicians Row on 48th Street in Manhattan until 2012. The brand has seen increasingly tough times of late, including the death of long-time brand steward Sammy Ash, who was the acting COO until his death in September 2023. Continue reading
Swedish Blackened Death Metal masters Necrophobic are pleased to finally share their tenth studio album, In the Twilight Grey, which officially hits the streets and streaming services everywhere today, March 15, via Century Media Records! Club in Germany back in January 2024 by Paloosa Productions. The performance had such a positive impact on the band that they decided to preserve it and turn it into a “road video” that happened in the magic of the moment that evening. Watch it here:
