Slipknot kicked off their epic Knotfest Roadshow last weekend in California and all reports are that the show is the biggest spectacle the band has ever presented. In addition to sick sets from Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth, Slipknot, performed new songs, stunned the crowd with sights and sounds that exploded the senses, the traveling Slipknot Museum, a chance to try their new No. 9 Whiskey, and more! In a new interview with Kerrang, M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan has revealed that the writing sessions for Slipknot’s We Are Not Your Kind, resulted in far more material than is on the album releasing August 8th from Roadrunner Records. The band has written fifteen addition songs and recorded “at least seven or eight” other songs that didn’t get selected for the album. The tracks are all finished with vocals. We are less than three weeks away for a new Slipknot record! The band posted a 17-second teaser for a new song, from their We Are Not Your Kind album. The clip, in which vocalist Corey Taylor can be heard singing “Today, upon this hill, I’m counting all the killers …,” includes a brief flash showing the bands’ logo along with the word “Monday,” implying that the full track will be made available on July 22. We Are Not Your Kind will be released on August 9 via Roadrunner. The disc was once again recorded at a Los Angeles studio with producer Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed their 2004 album Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and helmed 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter.Continue reading

The mobile installation will be traveling with the tour and available to view in each city.
