Arctangent Festival has announced its first main stage headliner for 2020, as a UK 2020 exclusive, Opeth! The band will continue touring behind its In Cauda Venenum album, out now via Nuclear Blast. They will be joined by Tesseract (UK festival exclusive), This Will Destroy You, Amenra (UK 2020 exclusive), Ihsahn, Perturbator, Rolo Tomassi (performing two full albums sets – ‘Grievances’ and ‘Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It’), Earthtone9, Giraffes? Giraffes!, Fronterier and many more to be announced. The fest takes place on August 20th/21st/22nd 2020 at Fernhill Farm, Compton Martin near Bristol, and tickets are on sale now at the link below. This Will Destroy You Featured In a Superbowl Ad from Verizon

Among the countless commercials seen during Superbowl 53 last night, an unlikely metal band had their song featured in a commercial spot. Post-Rock Band This Will Destroy You had their song ‘The Mighty Rio Grande’ featured in Verizon’s ad for their “All Our Thanks” campaign, singling out first responders and donating money to charity. This is pretty momentous for the awesome, but the unheralded band in a sea of commercials featuring pop stars and pop culture icons. Each Superbowl ad spot reportedly cost s 5.5 million dollars per minute or air time. This Will Destroy You released a brand new album on January 11th, New Others Part One.

San Antonio post rockers Bright Like The Sun is streaming their sophomore self titled album, out now via Sun Sea Sky Productions below. Produced by This Will Destroy You‘s Alex Bhore, Bright Like The Sun create post-rock music with nuance from powerful washes of guitars and the band’s haunting use of vocals as another instrumental layer to the inclusion of instruments not commonly associated with the genre. Their music is epic, dissolving the lines between powerful and meditative, creating something that’s both brains and brawn.
