Perry Farrell- Kind Heaven

Perry Farrell scarcely needs an introduction to readers of this website. Somewhat surprisingly for an artist that seems to be working on at least something every day of the week, a very long time has passed since his 2001 opus Song Yet to Be Sung. Farrell’s legacy will undoubtedly be dominated by his peerless work on Jane’s Addiction as well as his vision for Lollapalooza but his solo work and the fever dream qualities of Porno for Pyros seem strangely undervalued. And now he’s back.Continue reading

Video: Foo Fighters Troll The Internet, Not Breaking Up After All

foofighters not breaking up video dave grohl ghostcultmag

Foo Fighters played a practical joke on their fans and the music press by posting their major announcement, a video message to fans. Originally thought to be a notice of the band going on hiatus or breaking up, every major music website (including ours) reported the news earlier today with two very prominent music and entertainment sites confirming the news only hours ago. The band is apparently not breaking up, but no further information was released either. The hilarious video pokes fun at frontman Dave Grohl’s high-profile, and also has producer Butch Vig and singer Nick Lachey appear too. You can watch the video at this link or below:

Rumored since a cryptic tweet and other messages the last few days, Foo Fighters have revealed the band is entering an indefinite hiatus as of now. In an interview with Spin drummer Taylor Hawkins confirmed the news:

I think the world needs a break from us for a little while”

Rumors and speculation had followed the band for some time as front man Dave Grohl has been eyeing a solo career for some time. He often has many other side-projects in the works, both high profile and behind the scenes. Hawkins himself has several other bands he is a part of including Birds of Satan and Chevy Metal. The future plans of the other members of the group are at this time unknown. Foo Fighters were promoting their current release, the Saint Cecelia (Roswell.RCA) EP, recorded as a charity project to benefit victims of the Paris Terror attacks. Prior to that the band had released the award-winning Sonic Highways (Roswell/RCA) album in 2014.
